Walking and Chewing Gum

Ott Light & Cat Genetics

I seem to have lost my ability to do more than one thing at a time. This shawl I’m working on is the easiest thing ever but yet it isn’t boring. I figured I could watch flosstubes and knit, right? Wrong! I have ripped back more than I’ve gone forward. A lot of it is knit one, slip one. I would knit two, slip one, then I’d get to the end and it wasn’t right. Find the mistake, rip it back. Then I’d knit one, slip two somewhere along the way, get to the end and it wasn’t right . . on the same row . . three times!

The problem is that I’m totally not paying attention. Who could have thought there was anything wrong with that? I’m watching flosstubes, every time they show something . . every time . . I want to make it so go to one of the online shops (or two or three to find the pattern and the floss), come back to knitting, knit for 3 minutes, then they show something else I want to make.

I’m figuring I’m having fun while I can because when Vince gets here and packages arrive every day . . the fun has ended! So, while the cat’s away, the mouse will play!

So . . for just a moment, let’s pretend I didn’t just yesterday say I wasn’t going to order anything else. We can start that tomorrow.

It says “I belong with You”. The name of the pattern is Sweetheart Hill by Plum Street Samplers. Can you tell I’m missing my husband?

This is the other pattern I bought.

This one is St. Patty’s Day Pine by Carolyn Manning Designs. The hearts . . I thought I could make this and use red and it would be a Valentine’s Day tree. I could use pastels and put bunnies under it or colored eggs and it would be an Easter tree. Look at it as a cost saving measure. One pattern could keep me busy for years! But, I know I probably wouldn’t make it more than once. Maybe it’s the simplicity or that it kinda reminds me of a quilt but I really liked this pattern.

OK . . for real (stop laughing!) . . no more purchases and if I do buy something, I’m keeping it to myself.

What flosstubes are you watching. Do you have any you recommend? I’m always looking for new ones.

I really like both of these. I can’t do cross stitch to save my life (I apparently can’t count!!)…but I’m sorely tempted with the “I belong with you”. Sigh. I’ll admire your progress with all of these. ?

These are beautiful! Don’t ever say “I am not doing to …………” fill in the blank!! LOL Once Vince gets into the cross stitch he may want to do some of the patterns you have. I do believe he can make those frames for it though. He is one smart man!

Oh, forgot to mention, it is a proven fact that I can’t walk across the street and chew gum at the same time! LOL

I love your posts. I have bought too much quilting fabric and patterns the last couple of months. I have more fabric and kits than I could possibly make in my lifetime. What does Vince say when the credit card bills come? Does he ask about your purchases?

It’s lovely to read these posts. I find myself laughing – with you, not at you. It certainly brightens my day.

Thank you. It brightens my day to know I’ve made someone laugh! I don’t even mind if you’re laughing at me and not with me. 🙂
