My parents seem to be doing ok. Let me preface all this by saying we know things can change in an instant but as of the last time I talked to them this afternoon, Dad really seems fine – no problems at all. Mom feels better in the morning but kinda goes downhill in the evening. She said she “just feels bad all over”. No fever. No breathing issues. Both can still smell and taste.
It’s all weird but I’m thankful they seem to be doing ok. Mom started feeling bad Wednesday but didn’t get her test til Saturday so, depending on how you count it, she could be on Day 9 or Day 7. Dad felt bad enough to get tested on Sunday so I think that he’s just finishing up Day 5 so . . cautiously optimistic for them.
I haven’t talked to my uncle in a few days and the last time I talked to him, he was fine. Tomorrow will be a week since they were all with mom on Christmas Day so there are a few days left til he’s out of the woods.
Thank you all for your concern, contacting me and praying or them all.

Glad to hear it’s gone well so far. It’s crazy how much variety there is in people’s symptoms. Hopefully they will continue on this course and be able to remain at home.

I hope the good news continues for everyone! Thanks for the update.

I am so glad they are doing better. My doctor said even after 2 weeks she still felt tired and worn out by the end of the day. And she is a LOT younger than me and your parents!! She has a 7 year old and a Senior in High School. She, her daughter (7), her son the football player and her husband all had it. After the 2 week Quarantine they all tested negative. I imagine she is in her early 30’s.

Good news on your parents! My MIL came down with covid too. She’s 86 and has been doing surprisingly well. The doctor gave her the dexamethasone steroid and arithromycin. She says the hardest thing right now is being really tired (and yet she was able to take down her Christmas tree) but she also can’t taste well. She’s on day 9 or 10 so hopefully it won’t get worse. Fortunately she’s in good health and has good stamina from her years of ballroom dancing. FaceTime has been a Godsend as she lives alone.

Thank goodness for FaceTime. I’d hate t think of her going through that alone. I know how happy I was to get to video chat with Addie when I couldn’t see her often. I’m glad she’ doing well and hope she continues to recover and get her strength back.
