Packages finally seem to be moving a bit. Yesterday I received two packages, one pattern in each package and I think there are a couple coming today.
These two that arrived yesterday I’m really excited about. Wait . . before I share those . . when ‘m watching flosstubes, and later today I will share a list of the ones I like, I laugh but it’s sometime annoying because everything so many of them show, they say “I LOVE this one!” Then they show another one and “I LOVE this one!” I know I do the same thing but I’m going to try to avoid saying it. Really though . . I must LOVE it or I wouldn’t have bought it so just consider that unless I say “I don’t know what I was thinking because I don’t like this one!”, then you’ll know I LOVE it and I won’t say it a mllion times!
OK . . got that off my chest!
I’m kinda scaring myself with the colors I’m liking on cross stitch patterns. Dang . . I wish I could say I LOVE these colors! 🙂
This is a sampler, Faith Hope Peace and Love by Teresa Kogut. There’s a link to her web page on the picture but I bought it at 123stitch.
This is the fabric I bought to use.
If the name of the fabric is on the piece, I won’t say what it is again but I also got that from 123stitch.
The second pattern is ‘Twas the Night.
I saw this on a Little Yellow House Crafts’ Flosstube #61, starting at about 10:35. Hers just blew me away. Even if you don’t cross stitch, you may want to go check this one out just to see how pretty it is. I stopped that video and bought the pattern and the fabric with the gold.
You can kinda see the gold in the fabric. She said it’s easy so I’m going to trust her. She said it goes fast so I’m going to trust her.
The one I really want to arrive quickly is “A Good Marriage“. I am determined to get this one stitched and framed before Vince gets back here. It’s just words and no intricate border so I’d like to say I can get it stitched in a week. I have no idea how long it takes Hobby Lobby to get something framed, though if I could find a decent pre-made frame, I’m not opposed to using that. The finished size is 6.8 x 12” so I have no idea if frames that size are easy to find or if I’ll even be going into stores to be able to get it done but that’s my goal. As soon as that one arrives, I’m starting it.
Right now, tracking says it will be here 12/30. I’ve learned that it’s traditional in the cross stitch community to start a new project on New Year’s Day so, if that one is here, that’s my New Year’s Day start!

I bought the Teresa Kogut pattern “Pet All the Dogs” earlier this year when I re-started cross stitching. I am making myself finish one more XS- UFO before I start it. Fortunately, I bought all the floss (Weeks hand dyed) before it became scarce. I’m looking forward to starting it soon.

Oh, goodness. Do I dare look at that pattern?? Good for you on all counts – finishing a UFO and having the floss before it got hard to get.

At my sailing club, we say that what you do on January 1st, you’ll continue doing it a lot throughout the new year. So, we try to go out sailing or at least get out by the water that day. Our black-eyed peas & cornbread party usually draws a large crowd. I wonder how the crowd is this year, especially since the temps will be in the 40s. At least we have a large porch/lawn area to spread out.
I’ll go to check it out, have a bowl of the peas (does that mean I’ll be eating a lot next year?) and then come home and get into some sewing project. I have lots of quilt and needlework projects in progress that I can work on. I wonder if I can find a new cross-stitch project in my stash to start that day.
I have an idea on your new interest in colors and style, but I’ll wait until I see the rest of your projects.

I know what you mean, but I have to say “I love these patterns”!!
