Please don’t complain about the blog ads! I read other blogs. I deal with the ads. Sometimes they are very frustrating but a blog with a decent amount of traffic using too much storage space isn’t free and the ads pay those bills.
Every time I post something about the ads, I get a few complaints. If you want to complain, give me a few days. I’ve dodged about all the balls I can handle for the past few days and there’s no indication life is going to get a whole lot better for a couple of weeks. I have shared some. I haven’t and can’t share all but prayers are appreciated!
Anyway . . the group that takes care of all my ads has some changes. When you first click on the blog (you probably already did and saw it), there’s a pop up that you have to click on one of the choices. This mostly is to keep us in compliance with some of the disclosures about what we collect. I think it’s something you should only have to do once.
Also, ad format is changing. I think I’ve clicked on the most minimally “in your face” options but it’s going to take time to see if I can tweak it to make it better. Trust me . . we’re not getting rick off blog ads – they pay for the blog, maintenance of the blog, updates to various things that are not free so again . . please give me a bit of time to get things worked out to what is hopefully not too bad for y’all.

Anyone visiting your blog for free has ZERO right to complain! JUST STOP people.
I’m sorry your plate is overflowing Judy. Sending prayers up for you, your parents and any other challenges happening right now. Hugs to you.

Judy, sometimes I can’t get through a blog post and have to leave and go back in. That is fine with me. No complaints.
I hope your parents are doing well. I have another friend who had to have her DH transported to the hospital with Covid. Our hospitals are out of beds. They have turned their cafeteria into holding areas until a bed becomes available. Todd and Laura are coming to spend the night (or two) here. I have to go to the store for dinner as she only eats chicken etc. I have not been to the store since a week before Xmas. I need to shop for more but will do that later with instacart.. After an early run in the am, it is going to be instacart for me. My husband will not go anywhere except his barber (illegal her in CA).. He is in his 80’s. I am the one who is 75 and have had a heart attack and have diabetes. That means, we are not getting may projects done here. I don’t want strangers in my house. No one can come in without a mask, even if we know them. Hand sanitizer is available in our entry hall. No family hugs or friendly hugs. I hate being this way but I cannot afford to get sick. I have made made many Lowe’s trips because dh will not go. Those days are over. Our Dr. appts will be a phone call. I need to have blood work done but I refuse to go to the lab. That is just a breeding ground. Food is the only thing we need. We do not havwe room for a freezer, even in the garage. It gets very hot here in the CA desert. We have a Von’s here (also know as Safeway or Albertsons), a Stater Bros (local), Ralpj’s. Trader Joe’s. Gelson’s and Bristol Farms (very pricey, and Whole Foods. Sprouts too but quite a drive. Nothing near our neighborhood anymore. I always need fresh produce every week to 10 days.
Judy, hope your parents are doing better and they have someone close by to help if they need it. Prayers still going up for them and many others.

Don’t stress Judy, you just do what you have to do and don’t worry. It’s your blog and you do as you see fit.
Kind regards
Kellie

What is with people??
I’m sorry you’re having to deal with whining and complaining on top of everything else.
You and your family continue to be in my prayers.
I’m here, anytime.

Its a shame people feel the need to complain about still little ads that have no impact on them. Given the worry you must have for the health and well being for your extended family at the moment it’s shameful.

Why do people complain about things that are free? I don’t like the ads but can deal with it. Thanks for your humor and interesting posts that help in these times

I can’t believe people are complaining about those! They are on every blog I have ever gone to. They don’t bother me. If they bother others, then they need to do something about their attitudes! I know you can’t tell them that but it is what it is! At least yours do not cover the entire story and you can work around them.

Now that I think about it, that annoying thing with your blog scrolling up and down as ads load and go away has stopped. YaHoo! I hope.
Whether ads irritate me depends on so many things, primarily of which is when so many video ads (even worse if they have sound!) that the blog posts won’t load. I know they pay for the free stuff, but I do wish whoever decides how many and what format of ad loads would keep in mind that great swaths of the country do NOT have access to high speed internet. You’d think they’d learned that with all the issues with lack of service when they thought “no problem, everyone can do school and work from home”. Sorry if that sounded like a rant at you – it was not.

Just know that I have no idea how or why so much of that happens and I can’t say it’s gone forever. I have no idea. I sign up for the ads and have little control with what happens after that.
I also find that on blogs, including my own, sometimes reading on a phone or tablet, I give up but on the Chromebook or pc, I rarely notice the ads. I get complaints often and I think . . I have no idea why they’re being so picky . . and then I’m in the grocery store (back in the day when we went inside . . remember those days??) and I think of a recipe, try to find it on the blog so I can get ingredients and give up because of the ads on the phone version of the blog.
Believe me when I say I never want the ads to be intrusive or obnoxious and I’m not trying to get rich off blog ads . . I’m just doing the best I can with the limited knowledge I have of how everything works. I can type a post (not necessarily typo free) and insert pictures. Other than that and I’m having to call for help.
