This is my fifth pair of Susie Rogers’ Reading Mitts. They are so easy to make and every time I make them, I can’t get over how pretty they are.
I started these about noon yesterday, with Addie here, and finished the first one about 5 p.m. It’s almost finished. I’m saving the thumb to do after I’ve finished the second mitt so I can make sure and make them both exactly the same.
These seem so feminine and I always love wearing them. I have a couple of pair that I’ve kept for myself and while I wouldn’t count on them to keep my hands warm in a blizzard, they’re great for wearing on chilly mornings in the house when I’m knitting or even sitting at the computer typing. I used to would wear them in the grocery store but not sure I would these days . . from the looks of my poor hands after all the sanitizing and washing happening these days, I think I’ll have a little more respect for my wool mitts.
I’m not sure I’ll get the second one done today but I may. As soon as Addie wakes, we have to run to town to pick up the meat for our Christmas dinner, then I have to take her to meet Nicole at our halfway meeting point this afternoon.
Knowing how excited I am about these mitts, I’d bet on me getting them finished this evening.

They are gorgeous. I’ve pulled out the pattern to make them several times but haven’t. This year my one pair of fingerless mitts that a friend made me almost 10 years ago are starting to look bad, so maybe I’ll have to finally make them…after I finish a certain little girl’s sweater! About 2″ on a sleeve and a 4 row neckline left!

Beautiful Fingerless Mitts Judy! I’ve been wanting to make a pair for my daughter because her office is freezing in the winter. Would you mind sharing your yarn info (love the color) and needles you used?

Very pretty! I love the feminine touch. I wish I could 1/10th as fast as you do. At my speed I would be working at those next year at this time.

Thanks for the link, I just downloaded the pattern. I am never sure what DK weight yarn is, the last project I made that called for dk I used Bernat baby weight yarn

I know! Some of those yarns that use numbers confuse me too.

These are beautiful! I have made several pair of these and I love how they turn out. And as you say, they are so easy!

Those are lovely, both the pattern and the color. You can have mitts to match your outfits…tres chic Covid fashion.
