That girl knows what her parents like. When I picked her up Friday, we ran by a gift shop to let her shop for Chad and Nicole. Chad collects old hand planes and Nicole collects vintage pyrex.
We were walking in and Addie said “Wait! Does this place have planes for Dad?” I told her no, but we’d be able to find something for him. She said “Do they have pyrex for Mom?” I told her no. She said “We need to find a flea market!” I told her . . we’re stopping one place and this is it and I’m sure we’ll find something for them! She did and she was happy with her finds but I thought it was kinda neat that an 8 year old knew exactly what her parents really want, though neither of us would have known which planes Chad needs or which pyrex dish Nicole has or doesn’t have.
I think Addie and I are both done with shopping now. I have one more knitted gift to finish and I’ll be done with everything.

It is neat that she knows what her parents like–but you know one thing, if she had purchased a plane for Chad that he had one similar or a piece of vintage Pyrex that Nicole already had, they would not care (I am looking at it from a parent’s perspective), their little girl knew what they liked and purchased it for them. They would treasure it like there is no tomorrow.

Great feeling to be finished! I have 2 or 3 gifts I have to deliver and I am through. Got the Christmas cards out and that is good for me! I hope you and all your family have a very wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!

At least her gifts would have been in the right neighborhood, and you know you can always have multiples! And maybe what she would find would be a better example, in better shape, or something else better. =)
