The rest of our furniture, which was ordered the first week in August, is finally supposed to be delivered today. I guess I had halfway given up on ever getting it and now the Christmas tree is where the chair is going to be so I’ll have to put it in another spot til the tree comes down. I have my loom sitting in the corner so I was going to move that to the third bedroom, which is Vince’s office.
Addie has her own room where she has her Barbie house, plenty of things to play with and a TV. The other day she asked me if she could use the rowing machine that’s in Vince’s office and I told her yes. Then she came out and asked if she could set up a little folding table that’s in there. I told her yes, thinking she was just setting it up for Vince.
When I went in there to take the loom last night, I cracked up. It was so cute and so Addie . . not the least bit shy about doing what she wants to do.
Her pink crocs were in the corner, so neatly placed. Yes, dated carpet in that room but for what we’re using it for, it’s fine. She has a closet in her room. Why did she put those crocs there?
Not only did she put her notebooks on the desk but she absconded with my Christmas calendar that Vince had 3D printed last year and put it on her desk.
And her backpack is hanging on the closet doors!
She really has taken over the room! I sent the pictures to Vince. He said “It’s in her genes! That’s what women do. They take over the entire house while the man is away!”
She and Vince have a strange relationship. They can get along and be buddies but they can make each other fighting mad with just a look. I think it’s funny that she feels comfortable enough to go in and take over his room when he isn’t here. When I was her age, if there was someone I perceived to be a bit grumpy, I would have stayed way away from them and definitely not done anything that could have been perceived to be confrontational. I’m sure her thinking is that while he’s not here, she’ll just make that room her own and then move it all out before he comes back.

That’s funny :-).

At least that’s what you are HOPING she is thinking…if there is no sign saying, “Vince’s Office” and/or you haven’t specifically said, “This is Grumps’ office” she may not have realized that her stuff might be in his way…one day.

That’s right! Don’t ass.u.me. (wink)
She is remarkably tidy in her takeover!

Oh, she knows. She wanted that for her playroom in the beginning and I told her that was going to be Vince’s office.

This is really cute! She does have a mind of her own and she knows Vince won’t be back for a while. She needs her own office to do her homework away from all the Barbies that might distract her from her work. She is a sweetie. At least she asked first.

…..her way of keeping him close while he’s not there?
