I started this sweater in 2018 but in the summer of this year, I ripped it all back and started over. I didn’t enjoy knitting it, though it’s not the fault of the designer. It was knitted in a totally different way from any sweater I’ve ever knitted.
I finished the knitting on it in October but just recently soaked and blocked it and today sewed the buttons on.
The design was meant to be very cropped and I knew I didn’t want that so I made it quite a bit longer.
I do love the doubled collar. I also love the I-cord buttonholes. I love how quickly it knits up using bulky weight yarn. I love the way it’s almost like a light jacket due to the yarn weight. And, last but not least, I love the way it fits. Even with having not liked knitting it, I bet I make another one.

It’s a really classy sweater – one that will never go out of style (just my opinion).

I’ve been eyeing that Carbeth pattern for a couple of years, but like you, I didn’t think the shorter length was right for me. I love the yoke, but normally don’t like collars up around my neck. Maybe I could change that, too.
