Nicole came over today and helped me do a few things. She brought her knitting but we never knitted.
Addie said she didn’t feel good this morning but she acted like she felt fine. She had me take her temp; told me her tummy hurt. I was glad Nicole was coming because I didn’t know what to do with her. After talking with her a bit, it seems that the lady at the after school party yesterday told them if they ate the icing, they would have a belly ache. I’m sure she said “If you eat TOO MUCH icing, you’ll have a belly ache.” I believe they were given icing and allowed to decorate their own cookies and some of the kids were probably eating too much.
Apparently, Miss hypochondriac has stewed about being sick ever since she ate the icing. She often thinks she has some disease if she hears others talking about having it.
Tonight I made candy and she was wanting to eat more than she should. I said “It’s kinda like the icing and could give you a belly ache!” That’s it . . she was done wanting candy. She’s a funny girl.
Addie is watching some baking show she likes, I’m knitting with my best buddy on my lap.
It’s been a good day. I love getting to spend time with Nicole and Addie. I told Nicole that I’m so shallow. Yesterday when I was driving to Nevada to get Addie, I was thinking “I wish this trip wasn’t so long!” It’s 45 minutes. For the last 9 years, I had to drive 10 hours to see them and now the 45 minutes seems long. 🙂
There are two ways to get to their house. One is down a fairly back roads type highway. It has a decent amount of traffic but it is a state highway. The other is almost all interstate. When we lived here, I’d never take the back highway to go to Joplin. Now that’s the road I prefer. I probably only have to go about 5 miles to get on that highway but when it’s dusk, I take the interstate. Almost everyone I know has hit a deer on the back highway . . and many people have hit them on the interstate too. Yesterday I went to Nevada on the back highway but came back on the interstate.
I never though I’d say that but I’ll be so happy to have longer days. Now, there’s no way I can pick Addie up after school and get back home before dark.

It’s all relative. =) You are living your dream with your family close, though.

I agree with you on the “dark early” thing! I have gotten to where I can hardly see anything at night when there are no street lights. Scares me. Don’t know if it is the macular degeneration or the diabetes taking control! LOL Could just be old age! LOL

I am having a lot of problems with my eyes at night now. I don’t know if it is old age, the macular degeneration or the diabetes! I wish they would put out more street lights in this town!!

My sweet great granddaughter lives about 45 minutes from me. Interstate to Greenville then 20 miles state hwy to their house. It is dark when we get back to my house and I am not comfortable driving after dark but especially when she is with me. Once we are back off the interstate it is about 10 minutes to our house out in the country. the bad thing here is everyone is off work by now and headed home. IN A HURRY.
