When Vince was here and Boots had nothing at all to do with me, I kept saying “he’s supposed to sit with me when I knit!” That’s what most every knitter wants from their cat it seems and it’s what he always did in the sewing room in Texas.
Wednesday he warmed up to me a bit. Yesterday, he was attached to me at the hip!
A couple of times, I actually wished I had a bit of space.
In Texas, I sat on the sofa so he sat beside me. Here, I sit in the recliner and he loves it. He’s on my legs most of the time, which means it’s hard to knit.
And it’s harder to type!
I do love this cat and it’s nice to feel like I have a pet that loves me again.

It will be interesting when Vince comes home

I’m thinking the same thing. Boots was always my cat. Then I left and she was with Vince for a month. Then he brought her here and she was definitely his cat. I wonder if cats typically have one favorite person. Old Speck never had much use for Vince and Rita had just as soon be by herself as be with me. She loves Vince way more than Speck ever seemed to love me. Pets are funny creatures.

Your story about Boots reminded me of how attached our little Rat Terrier was to me, she would follow me every place I went all day long. When I would go to the bathroom she would but her paws under the door and sit by the door.

Boots is such a beautiful cat. I’m glad he is loving you up again. I really miss having a snuggly cat around. But I’ve decided NOT to get any new pets around here for now.

There’s never any idea of what a cat will do. Enjoy it !

I think cats have a mind of their own. Deep down he knows whose cat he is. He will probably have to warm up to Vince once again when he returns. But so glad he has picked you for now!

Reminds me of the song lyric, “if you are not with the one you love , love the one you are with.” The picture of him looking up at you is so cute.
