We are trying to do better with our eating habits. We both know that two meals per day works best for both of us but we get in the habit of eating too much and snacking. Thank goodness my favorite ice cream is no longer anywhere to be found so I don’t even go down the ice cream row any more. It helps that Aldi doesn’t even carry Blue Bell here, but they do in Texas, and they haven’t had Dr. Dazzle (their low cost DP) in well over a month. I’m too cheap to pay for Dr. Pepper so I can drink water. I’ve always said .. why learn to drink tea or another type of drink when I can just drink water and be done! I will still drink Dr. Pepper when we’re out because some waters smell and taste funny.
Vince is doing keto . . I’m kinda doing keto, which is probably worse than not doing keto. Every third or fourth (or second) morning, I’ll drink a Dr. Dazzle, hoping to completely stop drinking them before my stash runs out.
Even though the snow peas and kohlrabi are not keto, we had them in the fridge from before we decided to start back on the diet so we’re eating them but in small portions. I know . . that throws the whole ketosis process off but it’s healthy eating and smaller portions are helping us get geared upo for the real keto.
We each only ate half a steak but still cooked two because Vince eats a strip steak and I eat a ribeye. We had salad with homemade blue cheese dressing. We ate about 3 p.m. and didn’t eat anything else last night so that’s good.
For breakfast, we’re having scrambled eggs with sauteed onions, peppers and spinach, along with bacon and an avocado. Vince really misses toast but I don’t.
I’m hoping by the first of the year, the diet will be habit and we’ll be able to drop weight quickly. It will be harder for Vince since he’ll be back in Texas having to cook for himself but I think he’s determined to do it.

Good for you to be focusing on eating healthier. I do OK for a few days and then fall of the wagon completely. Snacking is my downfall.

So glad you are eating healthy. This will be my first Christmas that since I found out I am a diabetic. But I am doing really good! I just check the carbs and not the calories or sugar content. That is what the dietician told me to do. I really learned a lot from her.
