Good Kitty

Do y’all remember when I had to switch blog hosting sites? I know it was before July so it’s been at least six months. Previous to switching to the new site, I always got copies of your comments in my email and would respond with a private email.

Once I switched to the new site, nothing I did would cause the comments to end up in my email. I hated that but began responding to comments in the comment section so everyone could read it. I actually kinda like it that way because so many times, I read a comment on my tablet or phone, mean to respond when I get back to the laptop and forget. Now, I only read comments from the laptop so I respond right then and I don’t forget to respond . . usually.

Today, the comments started coming back to my email. I didn’t change a thing. I can’t believe it!

So, my question to you, especially those of you who comment: How do you like it better? My responses to comments in the comment section so everyone can see it? Or, in an email to the person who made the comment.

Even when responding in the comment section, if it’s something I want to say that the world doesn’t need to hear, I’ll still send a private email.

Thanks!

I like an email reply because I forget to look to see if you replied to me but do what’s best for you!

I agree with Suzette. I would rather get an e-mail which I would certainly receive and read. I may not remember to check the comments or forget which post I commented on.

Do what’s easier to you. Sometimes it is useful to see your responses to others.

I like an email response, since I rarely return to a post after I’ve commented, but whatever is most convenient for you is just peachy!

I like to read your replies that you post.. It’s like you are finishing the story.

Yes, because so often I know what I’m thinking (maybe) but don’t express it well and then someone asks a question and that makes me realize that I wasn’t very clear in what I wrote.

Your blog, your preferences. I have enjoyed both ways.

I’m with the majority. I like the emails. I rarely go back and read others’ comments unless I’m looking for feedback on a particular product. So, the email is my preference. However, I don’t feel slighted when you don’t respond. I realize you have other priorities.

I like either way because I always go back if I have made a comment. I often only comment once or twice a month. Love your blog site and thrilled that I was able to meet you at Road to California. I am a clothing maker, a quilter with an APQS Millie, a knitter from high school days (I am 75 now),do needlepoint and hand embroidery. Made my wedding dress on an old Singer (I now have one). Love you and your quilting, knitting, crafts with Addie, cooking, and so happy you have a beautiful new home, close enough to Chad and family, but not too close. I think you are where you need to be. If you need to garden, search co-op gardening in your area.

I love reading your responses. You are my favorite blog site!

I like to read your comments to other ppl cause when they ask I find myself curious about the same question/answer. I seldom read my emails…so if you answer my question there…I don’t look there for an answer. Guess I thought you required an email…to weed out the trolls. haha.

Same for me. I’ll often see multiple people ask the same question (not just on this blog), and I think it must be such a pain to send the same answer to so many people. I would do whatever is the most convenient and least time consuming for you.

I enjoy reading the comments and your replies to them. It’s like a conversation among friends.

Here on the blog is fine. Sometimes I learn things in your responses to other people.

Benefits of both! I don’t always remember to go back and look at comments, so if I’ve asked an actual question, the email really does help.

I like emails, I don’t usually go back to see if you’ve responded. Of course, I’ll just email you if I have something to say!

Do what is easier for you – I like reading your responses to questions within the blog. But, if you like writing emails then do it that way or a combo. I know that we have had some interesting extended emails

And, there is an option listed below to notify the poster of new comments via email. SO, if you respond via a comment, then I would get the email from that option.

i prefer emails as i seldom think to go back and look for replies to comments later. somewhere along the line, i apparently chose to get all the emails once a day all in the same package. i don’t know how to change it, but it means i don’t remember what i commented on.

I would not think to look on your blog to see if you responded! So whichever way you do it is fine with me! I am not ignoring your responses, I just don’t see them!! LOL

Either is ok for me. But I’ve been having problems for weeks commenting at all. The comment and a x in the space and won’t let me.

I also love receiving emails from you. When I comment, I usually click the option to receive emails of followup comments.
I think it’s beneficial for you to type one answer, post it in the comments, and anyone who’s interested in that topic or conversation, has access to your answer.

I prefer you responding in the blog. I like to know what you have to say in response to questions brought up. For those who forget to look back to see if you responded, below this form are check boxes where they can be notified of new comments via email.

I like your emails but leave it up to you. I just forget to check for an answer on the blog. Another reminder that I’m getting older and older……..

To be honest, I never go back to see if there’s a comment answer. Also, there are a lot of pop-ups on your site that didn’t used to happen. It’s driving me crazy so I save up a couple of weeks to read.

The ads are messed up. Google ads seem to have taken over the regular ads and that’s being worked on.
