December

This year is the first year ever that I couldn’t wait or it to end but yet, at the same time, have a bit of trepidation as to what 2021 might hold. I keep saying this . . what if it’s worse?

No matter what 2021 holds, it’s coming and we will deal with whatever it brings us.

As I flipped my calendar this morning, I thought . . on December 1, 2019, who on earth could have imagined what we’d deal with in 2020?

My hope is that the pandemic will end, though even the experts seem to believe the vaccine will not be a cure all and many will not take it (maybe including me); I hope there will be no food shortages, no paper towel and toilet paper shortages and limits. Remember how nice it was to go in the store and get several big packages of TP if that’s what you wanted to buy and no one looked at you funny!

Will we ever not have to wear masks in public? How long before hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes are not found in every vehicle?

How long before we go to the doctor, or dentist and don’t have to wait in the car til our turn?

On 12/1/2019, if someone had told us all these things would be happening, we would never have believed them.

I hope when I flip my 2021 calendar over to December, and it’s almost time for 2022, this world is a better place!

Oh Judy, so do I! I hope the vaccine works, that we are able to get the vaccine, that fewer and fewer people die. I want to have people over for Christmas Eve dinner without worrying about their travel paths or their mask wearing habits. I want to go back to church, I want to have a big winter solstice party as I have in years past. That’s a lot of wants–I am so weary.

I know. I feel like, especially for those of us who are older, every day is to be lived to the fullest. And we aren’t able to do that now.

Our family had a bad 2019 so I remember us saying we couldn’t wait for 2020. So I’m not going to wish for 2021 and I hope your wishes come true!

I’m recovering from a bout of fever, coughing, and sinus pains and headaches. I just stayed at home. I asked my doctor why she didn’t recommend a C-19 test. Since I was getting better, taking my supplements, and monitoring temp, BP and O2 levels, she didn’t want me to go some place and possibly get sicker. I’ll be seeing her in January, so I’ll take the C19 blood test at that point in time. I’ll also get my Vit D levels checked to adjust the supplemental levels.

The moral of that story is if you were sick with something like Covid, consider taking the blood test to check your immunity levels before you make your decision about taking the vaccine. You may not have to make the shot/no shot decision. Keep taking your supplements, especially vitamins D and C.

I think the only question there is how long the immunity lasts. I’ve heard 3 months from friends who had it and I’ve heard 6 months from other friends who had it, based on info from their physician.

I don’t know how long the antibodies last either, but I did read something about t-cell memory & immune response, whatever that means. It just sounded hopeful.

    So very, very true.

I have a lot of faith in the doctors and scientists, but I don’t like the idea of taking something that has not been proven safe. Doing this so fast and no trials to see what might happen in there are side effects, I just don’t know. But on the other hand I would not want to be the first one.
I do believe next year is going to be better. There were too many negative things that happened this year and I am praying for more peace of mind next year.
Praying for everyone to have a much better year and stay healthy.
