This is the final step for the first half of the dough. Tomorrow I will do the same process for the almond flavored dough.
After sitting in the counter from about 10 a.m. til 5 p.m., the anise flavored cookies have all been baked.
For those who have never had them, the top is a bit crunchy, almost like a candy later, while the middle is a bit cakelike.
I love the detail that remains after these cookies are baked.
And the snowman and boy.
Notice even the knots on the stick the snowman is holding. Don’t pay any attention to the intention made by my finger as it almost slipped off the spatula and I had to grab it. 🙂

They are so beautiful. Almost too beautiful to eat?

They really do look too nice to eat! Are they everything you remembered? And, if so, can you please share your recipe? Thank you.

These look like they would be like old fashioned tea cakes. And I do not see where your finger landed on the cookie! They look perfect to me!

Just, why do they need to sit for so long before baking? Just curious as to what that does.

That should say JUDY, not “Just”. ??? Crazy fingers!!

Please do us a report on the above questions and how long do can they be kept hidden from everyone else? They are very pretty cookies. Would make a very nice gift (to me got my address?lol)

We’d LOVE the recipe! I have some molds I have never used and these look like a great reason to try them.
