Today would have been a good day to stay inside all day but we didn’t. I had ordered ticking fabric for my new ironing board cover from JoAnn’s and it was to be picked up curbside. Vince needed a couple of things from Home Depot so we all went out. Addie and I stayed in the car while Vince ran in Home Depot. I had planned for Vince and Addie to stay in while I ran in JoAnn’s. It was drizzling when we got there and I didn’t want to make them come out in the rain. Vince said he wanted to go in T. J. Maxx so . . we all went in. Addie ran in JoAnn’s with me. It’s only a couple of doors down from T. J. Maxx. I told Vince we’d me him there but he called and said he was checking out just as we were checking out.
By the time we got to the exits, the bottom had fallen out and it was pouring. The mall was crowded and we had parked way away from the doors. We were all soaked by the time we got to the car. We were in Vince’s car and he keeps NOTHING in his car where in my car, we have blankets and towels and pillows and all kinds of things we could use for drying ourselves but we sat there and shivered with water dripping down in our eyes!
All the way to the car, Addie was dancing along singing “I love rain!” It was cute and kept Vince and me from grumbling about it. Most of the time, she’s such a delight.
She and I were going to make praline brownies this evening. About 4:00, I could no longer hold my eyes open so I said “I’m taking a nap. Wake me up at 5:00.” She woke me and when she was in the bedroom, she said “Can we have cinnamon rolls for dessert and make brownies tomorrow?” Oh, yes! The cinnamon rolls were made and I was having a hard time getting going after the nap.
The metal on the fireplace vent sounds like rain on a metal roof and that is about to put me to sleep again! I was hoping to knit way into the night tonight but it’s feeling like I may be in bed sooner rather than later.
