The traveling yarn package arrived today.
The yarn is Miss Babs Caroline which is 70% merino, 20% cashmere and 10% nylon. I have not used this yarn before but it feels like something I could use quite often in the future!
The blue is Chip. The yellow is Jonquil. The blue variegated is Bluebonnets and the green variegated is Ziggy Stardust.
Here are the options for making this two color test wrap:
- This is bluebonnet (middle) and Chirp.
My Thoughts: Even though there doesn’t appear to be blending of these two colors, there might be some blending with the colorwork. This is my favorite because both “Bluebonnet” and “Chirp” have connections for us to Texas. I would love to use these two colors together but probably not on this project.
2. This is bluebonnet (middle) and Jonquil.
My Thoughts: I like this together but I think the pale yellow wouldn’t be great with the white in Bluebonnets.
3. This is Ziggy Stardust (middle) and Chirp.
My Thoughts: I like this but I think the blue looks almost too bright plus there is a lot of the same shade of blue in the variegated skein.
This is Ziggy Stardust (middle) and Jonquil.
My Thoughts: The yellow is more yellow than it appears in this photo, but not yellow enough to lose the colorwork when next to the yellow in the Ziggy Stardust.
This is what I’m going to use – the Ziggy Stardust and Jonquil.

Looks very nice. Glad it finally arrived!

Beautiful colors! I bet the yarn would have quite a travel story to tell if it could talk.

What a funny coincidence that the yarn was delayed until Vince arrived!
Judy Laquidara says
I thought the same thing. Just my luck, huh? I had already told the mail lady here that the packages would stop either when my husband arrived or when he saw the credit card bill. 🙂
Nelle Coursey says
I like your choice.

You’ve got better eyes than mine, jonquil looks like beige to me. Glad to hear Vince and the kitchen machines have arrived!
Judy Laquidara says
I don’t know that it has to do with eyes but more with lighting on my end and monitor colors on your end. It’s definitely yellow.
Rebecca says
What timing! Not only did Vince see it arrive, but it looks like you’ll have less time for knitting, with how busy you two are.
Judy Laquidara says
My thoughts exactly! I always believe things happen for a reason so that’s probably the message to me to stop buying yarn!
One thing in my favor is that packages get left at the front door. You can’s see them when driving up so if I’m tracking packages, I know they’ve been delivered. In Texas, we not only saw the packages as we drove up but we had to step over them to get into the house. Not saying it’s easier to sneak things in . . but it is! 🙂

Gald to see it arrived – I think your choice is perfect. I had to swap out my original color because the multi had bits of my main color in it and it wasn’t showing up in the pattern so I think yours will play very well together. Doesn’t this yarn feel nice – I’m totally loving the way it feels as I knit it up.
Judy Laquidara says
It does feel amazing. Why have we not used this before??
Karen Sutton says
I absolutely love the #1 combo – can’t wait to see what you end up knitting with it. All the colors/yarn is beautiful.
Judy Laquidara says
I’ve been thinking about those colors the whole time I’m knitting the other colors.
