This showed up on my Facebook memories yesterday. It was nine years ago that day that we bought the house in Texas.
It does make me a little sad – mostly because when we moved there, we had so much hope, so many plans. We did a lot there, a lot of blood, sweat and tears! We (and mostly Vince) built three cute chicken coops, planted about 50 fruit trees, added a second well for the orchard, added the solar panels, fenced in a 100′ x 100′ garden spot. We thought we’d stay forever but about a year after we got settled, Addie was born and that made a difference for me. Then Vince retired and we were free to go anywhere.
Vince never had a lot of interest in the garden; he never wanted chickens. Everything that I wanted to do ended up making more work for Vince. The extremely hot, dry summers were so hard for gardening, for the fruit trees, for the chickens. I felt bad that I kept having things for Vince to do; things to fix. I felt bad that I wanted to be in Missouri more than I wanted to be in Texas so that left Vince to take care of the garden, the chickens, the two cats, the dog.
It was time for us to go. We have some good memories of our time in Texas.
I think once we get fully moved in, and we’re full time in Missouri, Vince will be happy in MO. I hope so anyway.

Vince will be happy any where you want to be. He loves you and wants you to be happy. I love your Texas house but I really love your MO house!!
