I can’t pass up a challenge so when Eat, Sleep, Knit posted the Pumpkin Flash Knit Along (FKAL) last week, I jumped on it. Addie was here and helped pick out the colors so don’t blame me for the weird pumpkin colors.
The above two, as well as the one below were crocheted.
The straw colored one below was also crocheted and the two orange, teal and one more crab apple were knitted.
I think the crocheted ones look more like pumpkins. My knitted ones look more like bell peppers!
They’re done and that’s what matters!
The crochet took a lot longer than the knitting. The crocheted pumpkins are about 100 yards each and the knitted ones are about 65 yards each and the crocheted ones are just heavier and hold their shape better. I’ll never (I know – never say never) like crochet better than knitting but I did enjoy crocheting the four pumpkins. But, I’m also glad to have them done.

Nice, really cute! I love the straw colored one!
If you ever have a need for a knitted bell pepper, I’d say you’re set…you got the pattern. lol

Love your pumpkin patch. I made one large crocheted one and called it done – but it got me the Captain Hook badge too so that was a bonus since I normally don’t do the FKALs.

My granddaughter and I saw a pink pumpkin at Kroger’s recently. I had never seen a real pumpkin that color before. A bit lighter than your pink one.

Hey they are great! When I was looking at the group at the bottom, I was thinking the knitted ones looked like bell peppers! Then I read your statement about them. I love crochet because I learned it a long time ago. I love knitting but my confidence is not high. I am still buying yarn to knit with so I will do more and get more comfortable with knitting!

This reminded me of the Sunday school teacher who made my 4 yr old cry because she had colored her Easter bunny green and the teacher insisted only grass was green. I reminded the teacher that you used to be able to buy colored rabbits at Easter and that God loved all colorsand we all saw things differently. What a bad reason to make a small child cry. I love Addie’s color choices.
