Rita has decided she no longer wants to sleep in her bassinet in the bedroom and prefers to sleep in her big, comfy bed in the breakfast room. I don’t keep the heat on at night and I knew she was getting cold in there. The bed is on the floor and she won’t stay covered up. When she’s sleeping right next to my side of the bed, if I wake up, I cover her but the bassinet is small and she doesn’t seem to get uncovered so easily.
I mentioned on Facebook the other day that she was probably getting cold and several mentioned heated dog beds and heating pads or dogs. I ordered one and it arrived today.
Look at her all stretched out with her feet being warm, instead of all curled up into a tight ball trying to stay warm.
This pad can be set to stay on for 6 or 12 hours. It isn’t one you can turn on and it stays on forever. In reading the reviews, some didn’t like that feature but I do like it. I’ll have to remember to turn it off and turn it back on before I go to bed so it stays warm all night.
Hopefully this will help her stay warm and comfy through the winter. I may have to get something similar for Vince!

She seems to really like it.

I love this! May have to look into one for Quincy!

LOVE! And Judy gets to sleep through the night too 🙂

Yes! It had been weeks since we had slept all night but with her sleeping in the breakfast room, I think she and I sleep better.

How thoughtful & kind you are to Rita! She looks so cozy! Not to be rude or hurtful but I wonder if Rita will change her mind where she sleeps when her buddy Vince arrives?
Judy Laquidara says
I’ve wondered that same thing.

I have “Comfy or Cozy Toes or Feet” by Sunbeam. It is a heating pad for the end of the bed. I turn it on before I go to bed, so when I get in just the end of the bed is warm. It is perfect as I don’t like a heated blanket.
Judy Laquidara says
Heat is one thing I don’t need in bed. I’m pretty happy with the windows open when it’s 30 degrees outside!
Bett says
I have the window open also, but I have to have warm toes. This is the perfect balance for me. I say, when I turned 45 my thermostat went up and I haven’t been cold in 20 years. Except for about 5 years ago my feet get cold and if my feet are cold I can’t sleep. This is where Comfy Toes comes in, warm when I get in the bed, turn it off and I am good for the night.

When I was a nurse on the night shift years ago, seems my feet were always cold when I finally went to bed. I started putting a heating pad under the covers until I was ready for bed. With my toes warm, I could get in some good sleep.

We have several of these for the outside kitty huts (on a sheltered porch). Not only does it keep the cats from wandering over to neighboring farm barns, it keeps them from ill fated naps under warm car hoods. I did not know they made some that turn off, I’ll remember to check next time these need replaced.
