I should say central Texas because there are parts of Texas up in the panhandle that probably do get lots of snow . . I don’t know though.
A couple of weekends ago, Chad and Vince went to a bunch of flea markets. Vince came in, proud of himself, because he had found something for our new house.
I don’t mean to be unappreciative but . . I just don’t know about this. I’ve thought about hanging it in the sewing room but mostly to giggle at the thought that Vince thought this was nice for hanging in the new house. We still laugh, and I know I’ve mentioned it often but when Vince would hear about a job transfer somewhere, I always said “I’ll go anywhere in the south except Texas!” That string art piece also reminds me of “Anywhere but Texas”.
I was thinking, I could hang it in the garage and put it with all the things we didn’t need in Texas!
So far, I have two snow sleds and a snow shovel. Don’t need either of those things in central Texas.
Addie and I ordered sleds last weekend. There’s a red one (or maybe it’s blue – I can’t remember) behind the green one for Vince and me and Addie had some kind of “flexible” sled that she has at home that she wanted me to order for her so I ordered those last weekend. Yesterday Fed Ex brought a big box but it hardly weighed anything. I was thinking . . this can’t be the spinning fiber I ordered Monday but I could not remember what else I had ordered so I was surprised when I opened it and found those sleds.
Now . . all we need is snow and probably an ambulance on standby if Vince and I are going to sled too. 🙂

That sled doesn’t look like the right size for an adult, needs a bit more width and length, I’d say! Preparing for winter fun with Addie, I see. Better not encourage Vince to bring home any more Texas artworks. One is enough.
Judy Laquidara says
It’s supposed to be for adults but I figured Vince for sure won’t use . . probably never! I’d only use it if Addie were here and if we have enough snow to go sledding, I doubt any of us will be traveling to get her or bring her here so I mostly bought them “just in case”.

I have to say that I REALLY like that Texas string art, but what else would one expect from a Texan, LOL.
Speaking of the Texas Panhandle (where we grew up and moved back to after traveling from West Coast to East Coast for 45+ years), we are getting snow Monday and Tuesday next week. We also have had quite a few blizzards over the years (blue northers is what my Mom called them).
Judy Laquidara says
I would often hear on our news about the weather in the Panhandle. You probably get more snow/cold there than we will in southern MO.

The Texas artwork would look good on the garage wall as Vince drives into the garage to see it first. I have treasures hanging on the walls of our outside buildings that make me smile when I see them. We had a friend move to Montana and he painted a Texas flag on the inside of his garage on the two sliding doors.
Vince says
Painting flags, What a great idea!
Nelle Coursey says
I like the artwork, but I would! I am a born in Texas and never left girl.

After living in western NY for 30+ years mayI suggest a shovel at each door leading to the outside. Also, you will need a shovel in each vehicle. Ice scrapers are good but have a spare in each vehicle. It’s better to over prepare than to come up empty.
Judy Laquidara says
We don’t get that much snow here. We lived an hour north of here for four years and other than Vince going to and from work, if it snowed, we just stayed home. We do keep ice scrapers in the cars but in the 4 years we were here before, never used them. We keep our cars in the garage, watch the weather forecast and do what we have to do on the days there’s no ice or snow.
We’ll be fine with our one snow shovel. We’ll make sure we keep a path shoveled for Rita and will go out that same door. With her being blind, we take her to the same area every time we go outside.
We do get some snow but I think they didn’t even get snow days the last year, maybe two years here. Never say never but we can go a long time without having to leave the house except to take Rita out.
Ruth says
Judy, where were you living when the men went off in the snow in a pickup, leaving behind the four-wheel drive, and got stuck?
