A Box Free Room

Spinning!

Yesterday evening, I finished the last of the boxes in the food storage room. Don’t breathe a sigh of relief for me yet though.

These are the boxes in the safe room. You can see that I’ve already emptied almost one whole column of boxes. I think there were 16 columns, each with 5 or 6 boxes. I’m going to give myself 10 days from today to have these boxes all unpacked and this room empty. So . . that means by November 1, this room should be free of boxes. That leaves about 10 boxes in the downstairs family room to be unpacked.

There’s not much hope for the sewing room til Vince gets here to help but if I can have every box unpacked except the sewing room by the time he gets here, I think he will be impressed.

Great goal! I hope these boxes have things that are as easy to put away as the food boxes were!

We moved from Iowa to Wisconsin in 2001, back to Iowa in 2005 and to a different house in 2010. There is a box labeled miscl. kitchen items, no need to open soon. It’s still not opened. I wonder sometimes what is in there.

I tell myself that if we have boxes that have been sitting that long, we can probably just toss them but I’d never do that. I guess having the mystery box is a bit fun too.

Ok, what is the safe room….is it for tornadoes….

Yes, thick – maybe 8 – 10″ walls, concrete on top. For tornadoes. Many houses here have them.

I’m kinda impressed too. Will be so glad to get the safe room unpacked and that’s about all I can do til Vince gets here to help.

I’m pretty sure you’ve already unpacked more boxes than we moved with…we didn’t even fill up one truck the size of one of yours…and I still haven’t unpacked all the boxes! I think you’re doing an amazing job and Vince should really appreciate all you’ve done…and he will once he finishes packing up the rest of the stuff in Texas! LOLOL
