I hope the folks at Accuweather know that my plans are in their hands! I look at Accuweather out for days in advance and plan everything from my grocery shopping to taking food out to the compost bin (which is about 20 steps from my door) based on what they say our weather is going to be.
Yes, I need to clean the glass!
When I say I love cold weather, I don’t mean I like being cold! I think what I like is hibernating in the house, not feeling guilty about not picking up the twigs the river oaks have dropped, not feeling like I need to go sweep or blow off the deck. When it’s cold outside, there’s no guilt about sitting in the house and knitting. Of course, in Missouri, there are far less chores I should be doing outside than there were in Texas.
I do plan my trips out based on the weather. I need to go to the post office so I’ll probably go Thursday. Sometimes their descriptions are comical. Today: A.M. showers, then a shower. Does that mean an afternoon shower?
Next week, it’s going to cold . . and by cold, I mean cold for my Texas blood that hasn’t adjusted to MO temps yet.
I think later on in the week, it’s going to get warmer. Vince said I have to go somewhere at least once every 7 – 10 days to keep the car battery charged. He wanted to send the battery minder thing with me and I said NO . . I am not messing around under the hood of my car. With winter coming and him still not living here, and more changes of 7 – 10 cold days in a row, I might better get him to bring that thing and show me how to use it.
One thing for sure – the weather changes. I always look at the forecast for days and weeks in advance, knowing that it’s always going to change but I guess that’s about the same as all the plans I make . . knowing I’ll change my mind a dozen times about everything I plan.

Glad to see Missouri may be getting rain. My brother in Schell City said Vernon county had had three field fires.

It has been so dry. When I first came here, Rita loved rolling in the lush grass but when I came back last week, I told Vince the grass feels like Texas grass – dead and crunchy. We’ve had drizzle here for several days but it wasn’t even enough to wet the ground. We had a decent rain this morning. Hope they got it towards Nevada and Schell City.

Today I noticed that when this rain is done and things are dry I need to gathering small green branches in the yard. I think the squirrels are doing pruning up in the pecan and walnut tree’s. Just didn’t want to walk through the wet grass this morning. Need to get a pair of boots next week. Hope you are enjoying your new home.

Thank you for reminding me that I need boots here (the ones in TX are worn out) and I need Vince to bring my snow boots that didn’t make the first trip.

That fire looks so cozy and inviting! Hope Vince is making good progress in Texas and will be with you and Rita soon.

I’m so ready for him to be here. There are a million times a day when I want to say “Hey Vince! Would you help me with this?” or “How do I do this?” and he isn’t here! Plus, on these cold nights, he’s a good snuggler! 🙂

Nice to see it’s warm there. Accuweather said high 50s for us today but I don’t think it’s made it past 40 yet. Supposed to have 2-3 days of high 50s than just keep on getting colder. Hate it!

Single digit temps forecast for Montana on Thursday sent us scurrying to leave. Sunny, warm Arizona, here we come!

They are saying there is a chance of sleet her Monday!! Can you believe that!!
Judy Laquidara says
Really? It’s so weird how hot it can be one day and a few days later, be really cold.
