The unpacking is going to be a long process but, we’ll get it done . . one box at a time.
The movers were here Tuesday and I probably made 50 or more trips up and down the stairs. My right foot has some arthritis and it was killing me Tuesday night. It still hurt enough Wednesday that when I’d get up from sitting, it was a while before I could bend it so I was shuffling along most of the day, feeling like a really old granny. That was a good excuse to not go downstairs. I could have unpacked upstairs but I didn’t.
Yesterday, after making two trips to town and after being up way too much with Rita last night, I took about a three hour nap. I woke up ready to tackle some boxes.
This is the room I started in because all these boxes have to be opened and the contents (jars of home canned food put away) and then I have to open the boxes in the safe room and put that stuff in this room too.
I got that entire first row of boxes done and a few boxes of the second row done. There are three rows so I’m at least one-third done with that room.
My thinking is that if I can get all these boxes emptied and all the boxes in the safe room emptied, I can move yarn tubs into these two rooms (because they’re light enough that I can move them easily) and hopefully that will give me room to make some progress in the sewing room.
My plan in this food storage room is to stack all the home canned foods on the floor because I’m afraid they’re too heavy for those shelves, then to stack the freeze dried food on the shelves. Those jars are super light because the freeze dried food is so light.
Empty jars will stay in the garage so the stack of empty jars you see in the picture . . they all need to be moved upstairs. Maybe I’ll do that today before I get tired.
