No, I didn’t find them and I’m losing hope of ever finding them.
Two bedrooms are completely disassembled. I had hoped they would be under one of the beds, even though I had already looked under the beds a million times.
The sewing room and closets are completely boxed up. I was pretty sure they weren’t in there but I hoped they would surface when we went through everything in there.
Everything has been taken out of the kitchen cabinets and dining room cabinets. Yesterday, Vince brought in a ladder and looked on top of the cabinets in case I had climbed up there and stuck them on top of the cabinets and forgotten about doing it. Nope. Nothing was up there.
At this point, if we find them, I will be surprised. I always thought I would come across them but I no longer think I’ll find them.

Oh rats! When I saw the title I thought for sure you had found them.
Karen says
Judy, do you have any Christmas or Thanksgiving decorations any where? Or maybe an underused cupboard like over the fridge?
Liz says
The Christmas decorations box is a good place to look. I have a few cookie molds that were given as a Christmas gift and I found them in the decorations box since I use the molds and cutters as decorations whenever I do a kitchen theme tree.

Reminds me of the Tinkertoys I lost in a move over 20 years ago! My kids are long grown, but dang if those lost Tinkertoys still don’t haunt me! I’m rooting for you…

What a bummer! I’ll keep my fingers crosseed that they show up when you unpack!! That would REALLY be a surprise!! 🙂
Linda in NE says
I’ve been hoping you would find the cookie molds. Did you maybe loan them to someone and forgot about it?
Anne says
If you have the same kind of luck I do, buy new ones, the other ones will show up quickly. 🙂

The company I loved for so many years has gone out of business. There are others but they aren’t the same.

Almost 50 years ago I moved from an apartment in Georgia to Alaska. Some pretty placemats didn’t arrive- I remembered then that they were in a lower kitchen cabinet and must have been overlooked. Since then I always get down and check the cabinets with a flashlight!
Rebecca says
I was concerned the other day when you were talking about “upstairs” (in the shop?) and it seemed like you were talking about getting rid of boxes without going through them (IIRC). I may have misinterpreted that, but wondered about the springerle molds then!
Nelle Coursey says
Darn! I was hoping you would find them. Maybe when you start unpacking in MO you will be surprised and find them. I hope they are not lost forever!
Carolyn says
Maybe they ran off with my waffle iron that disappeared when we moved into our last house…never saw it again! Yesterday I unpacked a box (only a year later!) and found the base to a tall, skinny Christmas tree that we didn’t get to use last year. Now to remember where I put it so I can find it for Christmas this year!

On one of our moves, the movers told us not to unpack our dressers. Everything was going into storage while our new house was being built. Someone went through our drawers and took my small plastic box of jewelry, opened every one of my daughter’s boxes labeled “dolls”, and took our son’s toy hydroplane boat. We hadn’t realized that everything would be left open in the warehouse, not locked in the huge container as it was when it left our place.
My Brother-in-law lost all of his movie posters he’d gotten in France, when they moved from Nebraska to Utah. The movers had been very interested in hearing about that particular collection….
But of course you two are doing a direct move, and will not lose anything enroute.
Judy Laquidara says
Hopefully we won’t lose anything because goodness knows . . we can lose plenty on our own!
