I haven’t even seen the news nor have I seen the latest hurricane projections but they have issued a mandatory evacuation for most of southwest Louisiana. Talked to my parents this afternoon and they were packing to leave tomorrow. I talked to one of my friends there and she was crying. They were already stressed With lack of services – medical care, veterinary services, limited hours at grocery stores, curfews, no internet or cable. They’ve had a difficult 5 or 6 weeks since Laura hit and now Delta is likely going to hit close to the same area.
Emotionally, the people in the area are spent. Most of them still have tarps on their roofs. My parents were lucky to get their new roof finished earlier this week but those with tarps are probably going to have a lot of water and other damages.
Financially, people there are hurting. Many of them have huge deductibles on their insurance policies, they’ve had to stay in hotels or rent apartments. There’s so much damage everywhere, it’s next to impossible to get a reputable contractor to even give an estimate. Dad wa s lucky to get a new roof already but the Sheetrock, including ceilings are all torn out, the floor covering is all out – it’s just a stressful mess for so many people.
It’s so sad. Hearing my dad’s voice quiver; hearing my friend of 60 years crying. I’m thankful I no longer live there but wish there was something I could do to make life easier for my friends and family.
Please pray for those in the area where Hurricane Delta is headed.

I live southwest of Houston, Texas in between two tiny country towns. When I saw the projected landfall fo this hurricane my heart broke for Louisiana! People can only take so much trauma.

My heart goes out to all who live there and don’t have options to leave. I pray Delta spares them the worst of her fury.

I pray for all those already affected and for those who are going to get it again! It does look like it is going to land in Louisiana. Too much destruction. The year is bad enough already and those who are experiencing fires and hurricanes just breaks my heart. All the people and animals killed in California breaks my heart. Way too many Hurricanes this year! We all need a break!

Yes, of course I’m praying. I read that President Trump already signed state of emergency help before it even hits, so I know it is going to be hard and sad. This has been a bad year for many things, and weather is not the least of it. I hope your family’s house will be safe, and they will be safe, as well. I hope your uncle is okay, too. At least you have an extra house to offer family.
