There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t include a prayer of thanksgiving in my quiet time – thankful or this house, for Vince’s willingness to buy it and for the wonderful couple who sold it to us.
They moved about a mile from here and we talked to them and see them often (mainly because we keep needing things we don’t have here and have to borrow from them).
Last night I got this message on Facebook from the husband, and you can see my response.
I wasn’t trying to be smart. I really didn’t know if he was asking if we were in Texas or just down the street. I was truly picking when I asked if they wanted to bring us cookies. They did! His wife had made cookies and they were coming to bring us some. She kept saying to him “You told her!” He hand’t.
They came over and brought a really big plate of homemade cookies – fresh out of the oven. I tried convincing them that I was just joking about them bringing cookies. They stayed and visited for a while.
I really can’t believe how well this all worked out with the house and those people being so nice and everything . . just all meant to be!

Bet you cannot wait to be completely settled in, and no more backwards and forwards to Texas.

I am new to your blog. I think you bought the new house from some really nice people! What a blessing. I am from Oregon but in Minnesota to help with schooling with my granddaughter.

Welcome to the blog! Thanks for commenting!
Yes,they are the nicest people and we really do have fun with them and enjoy spending time with them.
I’m sure your family REALLY appreciates your being there to help with the granddaughter. This is a trying time for most of us but especially for parents of young children.

So nice to already have made some good friends! What did they think of the missing trees?

That is wonderful! And what a sweet thing to do. They know what it is like to move and know you don’t have a lot of time with all that is going on. So nice you already have a friend. Does she knit also!
