Until I get everything in there, I’m just not going to be 100% sure how it’s all going to work out.
One night, very late into the night, I was measuring and marking and planning.
This is what I call the front part of the room. On the left where the pink blanket is spread out, that’s where I thought the love seat would fit nicely and it did!
That gives me hope that some of my plans may actually work!
Excuse the mess – a box was unpacked and the packing materials left behind.
Across from the sofa is where the longarm will be.
On this end, right in the foreground on the let, you can see some cords stretched out. That’s where the end of the longarm will be. See the plastic shelf liners stretched out? Two on the right, two on the let? That’s where fabric shelves will be, along with one on the right that’s turned differently.
The design wall will lean against the French doors when I’m using it and when I’m done, I’ll slide it behind that shelf. If that plan doesn’t work, It can go between the two windows at the far end.
At the far end, sewing machines will go on the left; serger and coverstitch machines will go on the right.
About where those plastic lids are against the left wall will be where the cutting table and ironing station are. I’m thinking I can sew, cut and press right there with all those things together. The fabric shelves will be on the other side of the cutting table so I can pull fabric, lay it out on the cutting table, audition it and cut it.
The in the other part of the room will be the longarm and the loveseat.
I’m so anxious to see how it all works out in real life.

What are the dimensions of this room? We are building and I want to make sure I will have space in case I get a longarm.
Judy Laquidara says
Longarm tables are usually 12 or 14′ long and it’s nice to be able to walk on both sides of them so my reference would be to have a room at least 18′ or 20″ in whatever direction you’re wanting to place the longarm. I have always had 12′ tables and once had a room that was 15′ on the largest side so I could only walk around it on one side and that worked.

It looks like it is all going to work out for you!

It’s amazing how space shrinks when you put stuff in it, isn’t it?
Judy Laquidara says
That is so true. I look at all the boxes in Texas; look at the house is MO and except for my sewing stuff and yarn; and Vince’s tools, we have most everything we need and hardly an clutter. I know there are things we want to bring and we’ll bring most everything but I hope (1) we stop “collecting” and (2) I look at everything often and if I”m not going to use it, I don’t keep it. But . . I know how I am!
