There are some who think we’re crazy for moving to MO and others who think it’s the best thing we’ve ever done. Sometimes, when I’m back in Texas, packing, looking at all the work we’ve put into the place there, I question if we’re doing the right thing but when I spend time with Chad, Nicole and Addie, I have no doubt we’re doing the right thing.
Yesterday we needed Chad to help Vince with a few things that required a pickup truck. Chad drove down, we went to eat lunch.
We went back to the Mexican restaurant where Vince and I had just eaten the night before. Yes, it’s that good.
Chad and Vince did what needed to be done. I had gone out shopping, they called and told me they were hitting a few flea markets.
Nicole got off work, picked Addie up and they drove down. Nicole is working this weekend and Addie wanted to stay with us so Nicole brought her. About 6 p.m., I called to see where Chad and Vince were. They were actually in our driveway! We went back to town to eat . . it’s so nice being so close to good restaurants.
Chad helped move some furniture – the dining room table into the dining room. The breakfast room table will come from Texas.
Nicole and Chad left; Addie stayed. I had promised her one game of Clue before bed time.
Addie won. She plays often with her parents. It was my second time to play and Vince’s first time to play.
Being able to see them, get together and do things – especially with Chad helping when Vince needs help, and me helping with keeping Addie . . to me, this is what life/family time is all about.

There may be “things” you’ll miss about TX, (your home grown veggies/garden, Cat, lack of real Winter) but they are just that- things. Compared to being near to Chad, Nicole and Addie, they are totally insignificant! I for one have no doubt this is the best decision for you! ??

I have no doubt you & Vince have made the right decision! These pictures (especially the one w/Vince & Addie) are proof for anyone would believe otherwise! So happy for y’all!

My Mom taught us to play games on Sunday afternoons, in between church meetings (back then. fewer meetings now.) It took us an hour to play Clue. It’s a fun game.

I felt blessed when my children and grandchildren all moved into the same time zone. They are still stretched from north of Chicago to Huntsville, AL. Much better than Nashville to CA, though.

It seems to me Chad and Vince are going to have fun doing things together! They both seem to have the same interests. So it is going to work out well for all of you!

what is the name of the restaurant? Looks really good. Going to visit southeastern Missouri in a couple of weeks, Springfield has a brother and 2 sisters and Branson area has high school friends. They all say we should move up there. But we are concerned about winters. So happy for you that ya’ll are enjoying each others company.

It seems like you are already getting the benefits of being close to your family, when you aren’t even moved yet! I’m really enjoying reading about your interactions with everyone.

We moved to Florida to be near our grandkids (one house away!) and we’ve never regretted it! So important to be an active part of their lives. The youngest was 5 when we got here and is 9 now…he definitely knows we love him to pieces and pops in all the time just to give a hug and a kiss…heavenly! So glad you are going to have family close!
