Vince told me I look like the Beverly Hillbillies.
My poor car. It may never be the same. I have jars of canned food, a medium size canner, pears, quilts, big framed prints that I don’t want the movers moving, the larger loom. I don’t even know what all is in there. I’ve been packing the car ever since I got back from the last trip. Oh . . I do have some fabric shelving units that I can get put together before the movers get there with the fabric.
It will be nice to get everything there but this move is dragging out and I’m so ready for it to be done. We always said we wouldn’t be living there til at least after the first of the year but after going through well over a month of back and forth, I’m ready to be there full time!

How are you going to can the pears in MO? You can’t use a canner on a glass top stove. I didn’t know that when I bought a glass top years ago and I ended up giving up canning because of the stove. The instruction manual says you can break the glass using a canner. Hmmm maybe not a bad idea.

I use my glass top stove for canning all the time with no problem

I can for small batches but no way I’d use my big All American canner on it. It’s way too heavy.

Did you post where in Missouri you are going to call home? I live in Spanish Lake MO. Just wondering if we are going to be neighbors? I feel like we are kindred spirits. You got me started with my chickens. Now I have ducks and a rabbit too. I I can’t forget my chihuahua and a puppy pit bull! I’m also very fond of your style of quilting!
Judy Laquidara says
I’ll use my induction hot plate.

I’ve enjoyed reading your blog posts! We bought a house in another state in July and have been going through some of the same things as you. Every time I read a blog post I can totally relate. It’s also a 10 hr drive away. It’s amazing to see all the things that have accumulated over the years. Very cathartic to get rid of them. Haven’t packed up my quilting/knitting things. That is scheduled for this week.

It does get old going back and forth that far. I will be glad when you don’t have to be on the road so much. I worry about you traveling that much. I know it is tiring as well. So take care of yourself an be careful! Watch out for those crazies on the road!
Susan Nixon says
Yes, I thought you were taking it slower, but you seem to be going full steam ahead!

It’s been almost two months since we closed. I figured we’d be all settled into the new place by Thanksgiving but I don’t think that’s going to happen. My guess is it will be spring before we’re totally moved out of the Texas house. I hope I’m wrong.
