Yesterday was the first day of Fall. I drove the RTV down to the mail box to take something to mail and then to get the mail. Both times I was wishing I’d put on a light jacket. The wind and the cool weather felt so good though. I came back to the house and told Vince that it was chilly out there. He laughed and said . . tell me 70 degrees is chilly when there’s ice on the ground in Missouri.
I will not complain about the weather there. I love winter. I love snow and I even though ice doesn’t bother me so long as the power stays on, I know how unsafe it is both for drivers and us old folks trying to get the mail and walk the dog.
We will watch the weather and plan our grocery runs on days when there isn’t snow or ice. In southwest MO, for the most part, there’s snow one day, then three or four days of sun and highs in the mid-40’s to mid-50’s so it won’t be hard to work around snow if we pay attention.
On snowy days, I will be so happy sitting in front of a window spinning or knitting or maybe sewing.
I did look ahead at the weather.
I did have to look as far as December but I found real winter weather!
Ice and snow! That’s in mid-December. January and February is when we’ll get more of it. I can’t wait. I will never miss the Texas summers but by about February, I may be missing the Texas winters, but I’ll never admit it!

Get those sweaters ready!

I’m not sure we had any ice or snow at all here last winter. I know we didn’t have any snow days off at work, and I don’t even remember any late starts for ice either.)

Just think of MO as the perfect place to wear the lovely sweaters you’ve been knitting.

I hope you haven’t tempted fate now…. I really don’t want another blizzard winter! LOL

Well, if it is, don’t blame me. I didn’t ask for a blizzard winter! 🙂
Nelle Coursey says
At least you will get to wear the sweaters you have knitted. Besides the next week will be warmer!

Have you started knitting doggie sweaters yet? She’s going to need them!!! 🙂
