How many posts can I make with that title? No one probably wants to guess but right now, it seems like an eternity til October 12, when the movers show up.
I don’t so much mind packing things that are all alike – like packing fabric that’s all folded the same size, or packing yarn that I just dump, or packing books that are all kind the same size but when it comes to packing things like the mantle – there were framed pictures of all sizes, candles of all sizes, stuff — just all kinds of cute things that had to be wrapped and packed. I do not like doing that! It’s all packed except for some things Vince came in and stuck on the end. I looked at him and must have given him the evil eye . . he said “I’m going to move it!” I wanted to say . . right . . on October 12
There are still candles up there but I’m not bringing those.
As I’m packing, I’m trying to think of where everything will go at the new location. A few things have been added to the donation box or the trash simply because I don’t see a use for them there. Honestly, if it wasn’t for yarn and fabric and what goes with those hobbies, I wouldn’t have that much to move. There’s lots of canned food but that’s “our” stuff and I can’t be blamed for all that . . right?
Almost every room in the house looks like this right now. We’re trying to keep the family room clear for Rita’s sake but the bedrooms, bathrooms, dining room . . we’re squeezing through paths of boxes. The sewing room is the worst!
I did find my “Normal” cassette. I have that on my iPod now I’ll probably always keep this cassette, even when there’s no way to play it . . just because I love this story. I do still have a cassette player in my car. Yep, that’s the good thing about an old car! 🙂
This morning we were packing before 7 so here it is a bit after noon and we’re taking a break. We’ll probably start again about 3 and pack til about 7. At some point I have to get the okra out of the freeze dryer, get it all in jars, vacuum seal it and pack it; then load the freeze dryer up with more okra.

I love your fireplace stone and mantle. Very unique and Texas like!

My theory is that all the kitchen stuff (from a tiny kitchen) multiplied at night in those boxes, because when I unpacked it in the bigger new kitchen I swear there was more than what I started with. LOL

I know exactly what you’re saying. When I first looked at all the cabinets in the new kitchen, I thought I’d never fill them all. Even with very little stuff there, I keep re-arranging to make better use of the space so I don’t run out of space. If I run out of room in that kitchen, I’m hopeless.
