Wednesday it rained off and on all day and by the time it looked like we might get a break in the rain long enough to go cut the okra, it was too muddy. Miss one day of cutting it and this is what we got:
Almost five gallons of okra. That was cut yesterday morning and I’m sure by yesterday afternoon, there was half that much again but no one went out and checked.
I’m so thankful for the okra. We love it so much and I might have mentioned this but at the farmers’ market in Webb City, they were selling a little box, not much bigger than a container of cherry tomatoes . . for $4 or $5, depending on which booth you stopped at. Vince decided we should be selling okra!

I’m glad ya’ll finally got some rain. We’re still waiting here and the window for growing grass has closed. We may be ranching without cows. 🙁 Your Okra is beautiful. Our girl’s garden has been exploding all summer in OK. I told her that if we had to sell all the cows, we’d just move to OK and set up a roadside stand to sell her produce and my quilts. LOL

I think Vince is right!!

Okra is pricey here, too. Better pickle some for later!
