Mystery Knit Along Progress

Two Peas in a Pod

There are two mystery knit alongs that I’m trying to do but the second one, the second clue is already out and I haven’t started it yet. I had planned to try to keep up with both but I couldn’t do that even if I didn’t have packing going on so I’m going to finish the first one and then start the second one. I shouldn’t but I am watching the progress so it isn’t going to be much of a mystery for me.

The one I’m working on is Casapinka’s “The Sharon Show”. The sixth, and final (I think) clue will be out Friday. I’ve just finished Clue 4 and will start Clue 5 today so I’m keeping up better than I usually do – mainly because I’m not knitting on anything else.

This photo was taken at least a week ago when I was probably on Clue 3.

There’s so much variety in this project that it’s really fun to make – one of those where I can hardly wait to finish one step so I can see what the next step will be.

All of the yarn is from the stash and I think the oldest one (the gold) is from 2012. I tried several combinations before settling on this one and I think I only chose these colors because I was tired of digging through yarn and trying to find something that would work. These colors would not have been my choice if I were ordering yarn but I absolutely love them and don’t think I could have come up with four colors that I like better.

I’m actually loving working on just one project . . start to finish. I’d be happy if this became a habit.

I’m interested in your color joins in knitting where there is just a flat piece. Can you recommend a video that will show how to do this without using the kind of join you might use on a sweater where the join is hidden in the seam? Your joins like pretty tidy in your photo.

If you can wait til I get this blocked, and post pictures, I think I can explain how I do it. Please remind me if I forget.

I’m doing the Sharon Show too and love my shawl. Clue six is going to be delayed until next Friday but something will be posted this afternoon or tomorrow in place of the clue. No telling what it will be! Sharon is on a midwestern adventure to locate her missing squad car and you can follow along on the trip on Casapinka’s IG or Facebook group. That cat is something else.

Oh, good! How did I miss that. Hopefully that gives me time to get Clue 5 done and get caught up before #6 comes out. Thanks for letting me know. Obviously I don’t read as much as I should.

I kept thinking that shawl looked familiar, and then I realized that another blogger that I read is also making it, and her’s was the last blog I read…my brain is a bit fried! Duh! ๐Ÿ™‚

I signed up for the two Mystery Knit-A-Longs too – haven’t started either one but I’ve got the yarn all picked out if that counts! I can’t seem to get excited about any knitting project – I’m knitting – picking up already started projects – flitting from one to another.

I think we all have those periods. Hope it changes for you and hope I don’t catch it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Maybe you need a really exciting project to get you going.

This is going to be very pretty! I know you are excited to finish it so you can start on the other one.
