Every day there are bits and pieces of our conversations that have me laughing (or crying).
Tonight during dinner, out of the clear blue . .
Vince: After we finish eating, will you walk over there with me?
Me: Walk over where?
Vince: The sewing room!
I asked him . . how was I supposed to know where you were talking about? He had already had me walk out to one of the chicken coops to help measure something, and earlier he had me walk out to the garden with him. I had no idea where he was talking about.
Later, still during dinner . .
Vince: How many quilts are in the sewing room?
Me: How many gallons of water are in the ocean?
Vince: Which ocean?
I have no idea and probably don’t want to know how many quilts are in the sewing room but by the time we get finished packing, I’m betting he tells me!
Still during dinner . .
Vince: What’s in the green bag?
Me: What’s in the cardboard box?
Good grief . . what green bag is he talking about? I didn’t know if it was one he could see from where he was sitting to eat or one in the sewing room or one in my car . . no idea. It ended up being the green bag in one of the sewing room closets and it’s the Go Cutter.
I don’t know if he’s tired from packing or if he’s working in one room and I’m working in another but we just don’t seem to be communicating well these days. Thankfully, we’re still laughing about it all.

I swear my Dan is related to your Vince! Our conversations are just like yours!

I think/hope my discussions with Vince make me a better communicator. One thing that drives me over the edge is he will be telling me a story about two or three men and Vince will say “He said this . . and he said that”. I’ve given up asking which friend said what but I’m so careful now to say “Sue said this, and Sherry said that” and not say she said and she said and then she said!
Men! 🙂

My husband is exactly like that too! And he gets so frustrated when it takes me awhile to figure out who or what he is talking about. I’m glad to hear we’re not the only ones!
