Why? That is the question I ask myself over and over. Have you ever known me to use much of anything other than tone on tone fabrics for my quilts?
Why did I buy an entire bolt of pomegranate fabric? My guess is that I was so excited when our pomegranates began producing that I must have planned to use it for backing or quilts.
There’s no reason for some of the things I have and this bolt of fabric is one of those things I’ll probably never be able to explain.

Maybe it’s one of those things Vince can sell for you.

Too funny! Yep, a backing for sure.
shirley swift-bruner says
you can always sell it on ebay

I have seen these kinds of “food” items made up into quilts with mason jars on them and various “items” like the pomegranates or pickles or jawbreakers or apples or whatever in a sort of “illusion” inside the jars. It looks quite interesting especially when there is a variety of things in each different block. But a whole bolt would take a lot of variety quilts to use it up!!! The sell it on ebay suggestion sounds like a good one!

I’ve actually started a “Food in a Jar” quilt but I don’t think I would have bought a whole bolt for that quilt. There’s no rhyme or reason to so much of what I do and that’s just one example!
Meri says
Happy to buy that bolt if you’re interested in selling

This is when I adopt the guidance of cutting it into small pieces (2.5 inch). It’s amazing how you can change something that you no longer like in a big splash of print to something very usable when torn into strips for a rag rug or into small pieces for a quilt or designate it as a backing for masks. That has been one of my favorite uses for unloved fabrics these days.

Backings for sure! I’m not one to go matchy matchy although even I would probably not put it on the Christmas Snails Trail I finished today 😉

A ton of pomegranate face masks…LOL
Kat says
Maybe you bought it for One Block Wonder blocks.
Judy Laquidara says
Maybe but I’m thinking there’s too much of the same design but you never know.
Kathy says
I see the pomegranates but my first thought at the picture was ‘coronavirus’ print. Now I can’t un see that. ?
Judy Laquidara says
And why did you have to tell me that because you’re right and I’ll forever think about that!
Andrea in MO says
This gave me a chuckle. I think a whole bolt of pomegranate fabric would be curious in anyone’s stash.
Denise Russart says
Maybe you bought it during the Stack ‘n Whack quiting phase? Just think how cute you , Nicole and Addie would be in matching pomegranate sun dresses……okay – maybe NOT! 🙂
Judy Laquidara says
I’m thinking . . NOT! 🙂
Nelle Coursey says
When I first looked at it I thought it was pomegranates in a jar!! LOL
Susan Nixon says
You’ll find a use for it. Or donate it.
