This time of the evening, I’m usually winding down, reading Facebook and thinking . . I should be knitting but tonight, I’m glad I was reading Facebook because I came across the most gorgeous shawl/scarf pattern – Le Soir by Ruth Nguyen of Red Earth Design Studio. She has a blog post here with lots of pictures.
Miss Babs, and you know I love her yarn, had linked to the Ruth’s blog post and that’s how I found it. Even if you don’t knit, please click on the pattern link and see how beautiful it is and then please tell me that it’s ok to take time away from my packing and knit this beauty!
The white-ish one on the blog is knit in Miss Babs’ Woodbury and the green one is knit using Miss Babs’ Katahdin. I think I like the white one and that’s Woodbury.
I’m so thankful that Miss Babs has gotten really active on Facebook, and I’m thankful that Ruth of Red Earth Design Studio has her pattern available at Love Crafts.
Now I’m off to order yarn. I think I’m going to order yarn to make one for a friend and to make one for myself.

That is a really beautiful shawl. I always love the ones with lacy designs.

It is beautiful and you absolutely have permission to knit this shawl. Wish I knew how to knit, so I could make this. But I’m dyslexic when it comes to knitting and crocheting.
Teri says
It’s gorgeous. You have MY permission to take some time off from packing each evening to knit on this beauty:)
Ava says
Sooo, beautiful! It’s always good to take time out to relax with a little bit of knitting. I love the white one. Let us know the difficulty level. I would love to try it.
Joyce says
kTotally worth taking a break from packing to knit on that!
Bonnie Taylor says
That is beautiful

It’s absolutely gorgeous but you better get that packing finished! 🙂 🙂 But go ahead and order the yarn!

I thought Judy, don’t you have another project in the works distracting you from packing and now another and ordering yarn?? But then I clicked on the link. It is really gorgeous.
Nancy says
OK I am going to try to be the voice of reason and remind you of all the packing. And remind you that friends do not let friends buy more yarn when they are attempting to pack everything and move. Vince is going to post anything you don’t get packed for moving. You don’t have much time. It is a lovely shawl but I am not a knitter so I can say don’t do it without feeling any pangs of regret. Now if it were fabric it would be a different story.
Judy Laquidara says
Everything you said is right but . . the yarn has been ordered! 🙂
Rebecca in SoCal says
That is so beautiful! And really, you can’t pack all your waking hours. BUT: as somebody said: don’t you have another project for this month? Also…do you really have to buy yarn? How about some of the stash you are currently packing?
Judy Laquidara says
Most of the yarn is already packed and it needs two skeins of fingering weight yarn and unless I’m buying for a specific project, I don’t usually by two skeins of fingering weight and, the pattern really screams for the Woodburry with silk content.
Donna in KS says
absolutely! Beautiful and you NEED this scarf/shawl. You should have the yarn waiting for you at the MO address. That way you get on with the packing and aren’t adding to the job while you’re getting it done! What a nice surprise of wonderful yarn and pattern at the new address! Knitting will wait; you’ll have plenty of time in MO!

This is absolutely beautiful and your friend is one lucky person! I love it.
