My last haircut was February 27, which means my normal monthly haircut has stretched out past six months (and it shows!). I had an appointment for 8/27 but then we stayed in MO longer so I had to cancel it. My haircut lady is off this week and by next week, I’ll be back in MO. What’s a girl to do?
I had trimmed it just a little and only once so that’s pretty amazing for me because I have to work to keep from whacking on my hair.
Last night I got out of the shower and was feeling pretty desperate. I told Vince “Will you trim the back of my hair?” I just wanted it cut straight across. He tried to say no but I begged so at 9:30 p.m., we were outside, with lightning dancing around in the sky, standing in the light of a floodlight on the corner of the porch, and Vince was trimming on my hair.
It doesn’t look bad and it will get me through til I’m back in town and can get a real haircut.
Vince’s hair is looking really wild. I think he got his hair cut about the same time I did. He has an appointment next week to get a trim.

Oh man, I know your feelings! My DH is also a retired mechanical engineer. He trimmed the back of my hair at the hairline a couple of times, then I got him to attempt to layer the bottom several inches. I trim the top and front. Since I’m staying home and connecting with specific groups using Zoom, the back is not visible by many others. My last real cut was late January, and I have bravely made an appointment for mid-September. I’ll wash my hair myself first, wear a mask, and skip the blow-out. DH has cut the top and sides of his own hair and I’ve worked on the back for him, too. I wonder how long I can make my haircut last?!!

I’ve trimmed my husband’s hair twice, and think I got a lot better (except for the little area that I cut WAY short–I told him not to look at the back!) However, he is getting a mullet because I haven’t gotten up the nerve to do the longer hair; just keeping his ears and neck free! However, I did talk to my stylist today, and would tackle the longer hair if salons hadn’t re-opened.

Maybe it’s time to find someone in the Joplin area to cut hair, so you can go either place.

You might as well find someone in your new town to cut your hair. Ya’ know it takes a few tries to get that one who does it to please you.

My haircut should have been the week after the official shut down came around. So it has been growing – and I am kinda liking the longer length – but the bangs are DRIVING ME CRAZY! So my plan was to wait until my old stylist was open again (cause she knows my hair) and I would drive the 2 hours for the appt. And I just heard that county will be opening up for hair cuts at the end of the week!!! YAY! I can soon get a haircut!

The salons have been open here for a while but I was too chicken to go. Now that Vince cut the length off the back for me, I’m probably good til we’re in MO full time. I’m liking mine longer too. My bangs were driving me crazy too. I found some clips I used making bows for Addie and kept them pinned back out of my eyes. They’re barely long enough now to tuck behind my ear and they will stay til a gust of wind blows them or til I hold my head down long enough that they slip out. So long as crazy hair is the worst of our problems, we’re doing good, right?

My DH did his hair mostly but I did do the back for him and a bit of one side over the ears as they were not even. However I have done hair before. I did DH and the two boys for a long time after we married. He had kids and I had one kid. And we could not afford hair cuts so I prefer long hair so no hair cut for me and I did theirs. I also did my Mom’s hair once since the virus and it needs a trim again soon. I am by far not the best but way better than way too long.

And the six-month grey roots! I’ve given up trying to hide mine. Hairdressers are open in NC, at 50% capacity, with rules about masks and distancing, but my doctor-daughter is telling me not to go. It would be a good start on going totally grey, but I’m not doing that. I live alone, and can’t get the cat to cut my hair.

My hair isn’t totally gray but getting close. I’ve never started coloring it and, at this point, probably won’t.
