I know I shouldn’t be buying yarn . . shouldn’t be spending money right now and we all know I don’t need anything. Once you read my reasoning, I think you’ll agree with me . . that I needed yarn!
Jasper:
Jasper is a sweater! It can be short sleeved or long sleeved. I saw it at Plucky Knitter but none of her kits were the colors I wanted to use. I love the short sleeved version and since I’m still hung up on the local school colors, I ordered this yarn from Miss Babs.
I’m going to use a natural colored yarn for the main color and will decide on either the Old Gold (second from left) or Squash Blossom (second from right) once I see them all in person. Squash Blossom looks like a beak on the mascot but it may be just a little too bright.
Oh .. Jasper – it’s the county in which we live and I also once lived in a town named Jasper so there’s my “I can’t walk away from this pattern” connection.
Rattlesnake:
Don’t gasp or laugh! It’s my “goodbye” to Texas! When I saw the Rattlesnake pattern, I did gasp and said to myself . . I wish I had the guts to make that. Then Denise wrote me to make sure I saw it. The more I thought about it, the more I knew I had to make it.
These are the colors I’m using. The left will be the bottom. The peachy will be next and light green at the top. The dark green will be the cactus and acccent.
I’m pretty excited about making both of these.

Well, Rattlesnake didn’t grab me but Jasper surely did. Saw a Facebook post from ESK showcasing Hazel yarn in a DK weight. Colors are beautiful. I’m may be heading down another rabbit hole – thank you very much:)

I love Hazel yarn but wanted the Webb City school colors and the Hazel Knits update came after I placed my order. I may have gone back and ordered Webb City school colors in Hazel Knits too! 🙂

Your rattlesnake in those colors will be fantastic. I’m still debating on colors for mine.
