This is not funny but . . it kinda was last night. You know that Rita has her little bassinet that she sleeps in beside our bed. I got back from MO Friday evening and she has not slept through the night since. I don’t know if it’s me being home or the meds she’s taking that’s making her drink more water and she’s having to go out during the night. Every time she wakes up, one of us takes her out just to be safe.
Last night, she woke up twice. For the most part, I hear her or she’ll climb over into our bed and that wakes me up. The bassinet has the front side that drops down so that side is level with our bed but the other sides are a bit higher but I have pillows standing up in them so she can’t easily jump down.
It was about 4:30 a.m. and I heard a clunk. I jumped up, woke Vince and said “Rita fell out of bed” but . . she probably jumped. I don’t know if she tried to wake me and I didn’t hear her or if she just sailed over those pillows and hit the wood floor!
Vince had to take her to the vet today to get the stitches out so he checked her out and said she seemed fine. She wasn’t limping or anything so I guess she’s ok. I’ve fluffed up the pillows around her bed and we put a couple of big pillows on the floor just in case she does it again but I’m hoping she doesn’t.
She got her stitches out today and her surgery site is fine. The vet gave us more pain pills and more of the medicine for her tummy because he doesn’t want the pain meds to give her a tummy issue.
She’s been released from the vet and doesn’t have to go back for the eye issue.

Such good news!

I’m so glad to have that behind us.

Glad she’s doing ok!

It’s wonderful to know that all is well with her. I think dogs are like humans and sometimes wake up disoriented. Being blind doesn’t help any, so who knows why she went over the pillows, but the ones on the floor are a good plan.

I’m glad Rita is doing so well! She’s a good puppy and is probably much happier now that her eyes aren’t causing her pain.
