There is a picture down below that some who can’t take seeing snakes may not want to see!
Just the other day on Facebook, someone was saying that Missouri has snakes too. I said . . I lived here 4-1/2 years and only saw two snakes. Yesterday, my second full day at the new house, I walked out onto the deck to use the phone . . and I thought we had bad cell service in Texas! I looked down and what? Is that a snake?
Yes, a friendly black snake. I took a picture, went in the house and called Addie to see because the day before she had been wanting to walk through the landscaping that’s kinda dense. I told her there could be a snake – not likely but possible. She thought. . no! Not here. So, I wanted her to see it.
She had told me she wasn’t coming back to Texas because of snakes, spiders and wasps. She had already seen a spider in the basement bathroom so she won’t go in there.
She came out to see the snake and saw this:
Get this .. I got out of the shower last night, grabbed my underwear out of the drawer. Something poked me and it was this.
A grass burr in my underwear! That thing somehow ended up in the washer in Texas and found its way into my clothing and made it to MO. Addie asked me what I was going to do with it. I told her put it in a ziplock bag and take it back to Texas. I wasn’t going to risk flushing it down the toilet, putting it through the garbage disposal or throwing it in the trash. I do not want those things here!
So, a snake, a wasp and a grass burr all in the same day. I’m thinking Texas is very angry with me for leaving! 🙂

I saw a funny on FB–a plastic bag of grass burrs and the caption was “let’s send these to China.”

I saw that too and that was my first thought when I found that one last night.

Maybe you should not wear underwear! LOL

Judy, that is just part of Missouri. I am not sure about scorpions but we have all the rest and the wood bees have been hellish. Enjoy your new digs!!! And glad you are closer to your loved ones. Makes life so much easier.

Oooooh, that grass burr looks like a goatshead sticker! Extremely painful to step on with bare feet – childhood knowledge from growing up on the Mojave Desert.

I think pretty much everywhere in the country has wasps, spiders, snakes, grass burrs/sand burrs. Thankfully not everywhere has scorpions & that’s just fine with me!
Rebecca in SoCal says
If Texas is angry with you, it sure isn’t trying to woo you back!
Nelle Coursey says
Maybe Texas just wants to remind you why you are leaving! LOL

Just a thought, I know with iPhones, you can use your WiFi to get cell phone service. It’s just in your settings on your phone. I don’t know about android.
I love seeing your new home! How perfect for you both!

Yes, but I’ve already gone over my monthly limit. We get internet next week.
