Rita had to spend last night back in the hospital. Yesterday morning Vince had an appointment that kept him away from home for several hours. On Monday when I left, she got really upset. Vince sat with her most of the day but then yesterday, when he got up and left, she really fell apart. She wouldn’t eat. He couldn’t get her to take her meds. He called the vet and they wanted him to bring her in so he did and they kept her overnight.
Vince should talk to them around noon and hopefully if she is doing better, he can pick her up.

Have him put you on speaker phone for her. She misses you! I did that for my dog when my husband would go out of town. I could tell my dog enjoyed hearing his voice.

Hoping everything is ok – sending lots of positive thoughts.

Poor Rita! Separation anxiety is rough.

Praying for Rita and the two of you. We’ve had to cuddle ours with a pice of clothing that has the scent of the “missing” person. It seems to help. Awaiting food news!
Sandi B says
I’m just reading my reply now. The typos!!! (piece not pice; good not food!)
Teri says
Hope she is better. Prayers for all of you.
Penny Holliday says
Poor little Rita! Hope she is better & returns home soon!
Susan Nixon says
I would imagine that is not uncommon in her changed world – even if she hadn’t had the eye surgery.
Nelle Coursey says
Poor Rita, I hope and pray she is going to be ok. She just misses her mama!
Karen Sutton says
She probably senses all the changes going on with the packing and all – her anxiety level is probably thru the roof.
Judy Laquidara says
Probably. We left her at the vet overnight; she had surgery; she came home and I left; then the next day Vince was gone half the day. We’re probably not being very good pet parents right now.

I had a Lab, Satchel, the heart of my hearts. I was a freelance artist and children’s book designer… basically had lost my job… when my husband suggested we get a dog to keep the 3cats company.
We picked up Satchel from the airport cargo area. Id brought my slept in nightgown for him to sit in my lap on. I think we become inseparable from then on!
No matter if he had daycare at the vet, a group play sitter, he could not be contained ! He’d bust out, jump over, sit by the road waiting for me.
My SUGGESTION IS the only thing that worked, was to adopt another dog to hang with!
Then everything became much happier. They just kept good company, individually.
Leave room at the end of the bed for two!
Judy Laquidara says
That’s what I think (a friend!) but Vince doesn’t agree.
Amy Frances Makson says
praying she does well and comes home today..
