Many have asked for a “tour” of our new home. We were very blessed to have found this house and I’m so happy with it. I don’t want to ever sound like I’m not grateful for our home in Texas. It was the perfect location for us then. The house was never perfect for us but the location not terribly far from Vince’s work, with the land, the privacy . . it was what we needed at the time. As Addie has gotten older, I’ve wanted to spend more time with her. The lifestyle in Texas just wasn’t what I wanted and as much as we didn’t want to move, even Vince realized it was time to go. He never wanted to move back to the town where we once lived, and where Chad lives now. His first choice was Arkansas but the northwest part of Arkansas has gotten so congested and the northern central area of Arkansas is five hours from Chad and some of it isn’t the easiest driving area. Together, we decided to find something within two hours of Chad, fully knowing that some day Chad could move away but for now, we’ll enjoy the location we’ve found 45 minutes from them.
OK . . to the house – I’ll start by walking in from the garage. I can’t tell you how nice it is to have a garage again and not have to walk across a dusty driveway to get to my car . . and not have cats sleeping on top of my car.
The door at the far end by the dryer is where we come in from the garage. The former owners had just purchased the washer/dryer in May (I think that’s when it was) – they weren’t planning on moving. They didn’t want to move it so offered to sell it to us and they ordered a new set for themselves. The lady was telling me you can add the app and the washer/dryer will send you a note when they’re done and keep reminding you to take care of the clothes. That’s great but most of the time I don’t even know where my phone is.
See all the cabinets? There are so many cabinets and so much storage in this house. I’ll put things in those upper cabinets that I don’t use much because it will require a step stool (or taller) to reach those. I don’t think I can reach the bar for hanging clothes and surely can’t reach anything other than the lower shelf in the cabinets.
Going towards the breakfast area/kitchen from the laundry room, there’s this closet and it’s for hanging coats and more storage. I may store my canners that I use often on the floor in there and I’ll probably store potatoes and onions in bins in there.
Next, we enter the breakfast area. On past that you can see the sun room. That table will go into the dining room once I bring my breakfast room furniture from Texas. I think I’m going to put a spinning wheel in the corner (by the sun room).
The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms. You’re looking at the opening into the family room (the double door type opening) and where the red window toppers are is the breakfast area.
In the foreground, you see the fridge handles and then the stove.
This is looking into the kitchen from the breakfast area so you can get a better idea of the whole kitchen.
This is the family room and you can see the breakfast room there through the opening.
The red room is the dining room. I had planned to repaint it but Vince said he likes it so we’ll see how it goes. I’m sure I’ll get used to it and be fine with it.
That’s about it for the main level living area.

I loved the tour! I love the wood! I love the light! I love where the spinning wheel will go! (I’ve never tried spinning, and look forward to learning through your adventures with it.) I’m so happy for your find of this house!

It all looks great!! And I can’t help but notice there are THREE OVENS! I’d love that!! The utility room is exactly like the one I have been telling my husband I want. A place to hang things and a sink would be SO handy!! Congratulations!!
Judy Laquidara says
We always call it the dog sink because it’s mostly used for bathing the dog. It’s also perfect for soaking knitted items.

I don’t think I’d ever connect that app. The LAST thing I’m interested in is having my appliances nag me!
