Sometimes I have these great ideas, I tell Vince about them and he just looks at me. I never know if he’s thinking “you’re crazy” or “that’s a great idea”.
We’re planning to go to MO in a couple of weeks. There are two beds with mattresses and the bedroom furniture in our room but without mattresses. We were going to bring the new mattress set from the apartment . . Chad would bring the mattress set and the sofa with the trailer and pickup. But . . Chad is now working out of town so we need a different plan. We still have beds so it’s not like a huge problem and we have a new blowup bed at the apartment that I will bring to the house.
I was thinking . . what if I go this week by myself. I can go to the apartment, get everything I can carry in my car (dishes, silverware, pots and pans, towels, InstaPot, toaster, mixer blender) and that way I can have the house all setup so that when Vince, Rita and I go the next week, we’re not “camping out” without some of the necessities. Also, I can kinda sit and plan some things before stuff starts arriving. And, Addie’s birthday is next week!
And, we don’t have to drive from here to there, spend a night at the house, get up the next day and drive to Nevada to get the dishes, pots, silverware, etc.
Then, I think . . that’s three trips to Missouri in four weeks. Yes, it sounds crazy even to me. Doubt I’ll throw that extra trip in there but you never know. I think the trips to MO are going to get old real fast before we get moved.

You need a change of scene and you will get needed work done too. And Addies birthday is the perfect reason to go!!!

I just love reading your adventures and seeing the canning and planning. During the time I didn’t have time to read your blog I have a question. Is Chad still at a Walmart working? Don’t forget to get those knitting needles out of the nightstand and put with the rest of your knitting stuff. Paula in KY

Getting necessities out of the apartment and into the house may have you feel more settled and allow you to let go of more in Tx. We are in the process of getting ready to move, and think it might take a year to pull the trigger. Just so much stuff in this house! If we bought our destination house now, I’d move what we really want to take, and then get rid of everything else.

It sounds like the extra trip would actually save some stress, though. It will also be different going and coming with Vince, because you won’t be driving and you can knit your way along.

I don’t remember Addie’s birthday, but is it so early that you couldn’t go up, make those preparations, and stay there until Vince gets there? That would save you driving/riding the distance twice, but maybe Vince doesn’t like to travel alone? And he’d be alone both ways, unless you leave a car in Missouri already.

If it were me I would go with the car packed to the very top. I would feel better knowing the apartment was moved mostly and being home alone for a day or so. AND there is that super important birthday. Are there small moving companies (like off duty fireman movers) in the area that could move your furniture?

I think you have the perfect reason to go now! You sure don’t want to miss Addie’s birthday! You can get a big load of stuff there and get it put away where you want it without any “help” from anyone who might be interfering. LOL You know what I am getting at!!
