Who’s Chris? We don’t have a clue but it was one of several interesting things we saw while driving home.
Vince and I came up with dozens of ideas as to what this meant. My favorite was that mom and dad had taken their Airstream and spent a few weeks with their son, Chris, and when they were leaving, they put this message on the back of the RV so that as they were driving away, that’s the last thing Chris saw.
As the mom, I would have cried every time I saw it on the back window so my guess included that they had just gotten on the interstate and would wash the back glass as soon as they stopped for gas.
That’s my story and I’m sticking with it!
I think this picture was taking as we were coming into Graham, Texas.
Aside from the Chris speculation, look at the sky and the green grass! That was so pretty. Our entire trip home, it was cloudy and a bit overcast but we never had any rain. I love watching storms roll in.
Vince asked me what we were going to do with this room. One thing I know I want to do is have a comfy chair where I can set up a spinning wheel but also sit and watch as storm clouds roll in. I think we’d enjoy having breakfast in this room too but the breakfast area off the kitchen also has a lot of windows. Who knows what we’ll do here!

That room looks lovely! Lots of possibilities.

Love that room – I was thinking it would be a great place to read, have a cup of coffee, glass of DP or iced tea, glass of wine, knit, hand quilt, hand applique, watch “nature”, but, I’d probably spend more time daydreaming, LOL.

What a fabulous space in your new home. A wonderful sun filled space on winter days (remember those?) I can’t wait to see how it develops this fall!

Love your thoughts on “bye Chris.” No matter how many times we visit our adult children, or they visit us, it is SO hard to say goodbye. Our 29 yr old son drove from central CA to SE Iowa to visit us for eight days earlier this month. It was so sweet of him and the best days of the summer for his Dad and I.
Your blog is great, Judy!

We went to my grandparents’ almost every weekend as a kid. It was two hours from our house and EVERY time we left, I remember my grandma standing out by the road crying. I don’t want Addie to have that memory so I really try to smile and say positive things but the minute I drive off, the tears flow.

That’s a good outlook to have. I’ll have to keep it in mind.

It doesn’t always work but that’s my goal.

A garden room, filled with plants and comfy chairs.

This is a great room for plants!! I can see it now! When you have to bring the pots in during the winter, this would be a great place for them. I love the openness of this room! And I think this is a great place for a spinning wheel. And maybe a comfy wicker rocking chair.
Nelle Coursey says
My thought was it was Chris’ girlfriend leaving him!! LOL
Judy Laquidara says
It was an older man and woman in the truck.

Sounds like a good story to me! Maybe Chris is their grandchild! LOL I love that room and would spend a lot of time out there reading, stitching, watching the sky, studying scriptures, whatever. It’s a great room! I predict you’re going to be very happy there.

I could see lots of knitting and reading in this room….and tons of flowers/plants. I’m sure you’ll figure it out when you get settled in. So happy for you and Vince.
