Today is Wednesday, right? Yesterday was Tuesday.
Tuesday we were taking Addie back to Missouri and going to see the house. We left here about 7:15 a.m. We had just gotten on the highway in front of our house and Vince said “There’s a wobble in your steering wheel!” He thought it was weirdly funny because I can always feel the least little wobble and he never feels anything. He was driving and he felt it. I looked over and I could see it wobbling. He thought it was because the car hadn’t been driven in five weeks and the tires had been sitting in the same spot for too long but as we got almost to town, the low tire pressure light came on. We were just a couple of miles from Discount Tire, where we bought the tires, so we ran by there. They were just about to open so they got us in first thing, found something in a tire, fixed it but were an hour later getting started.
The 9 hour trip to get to the house was now 10 or 10-1/2 hours between Vince and Rita needing to stop more often than Addie did! Nicole met us at the house; we spent a couple of hours going over things (I’ll do a separate post on the house), then drove to Nevada, MO. Addie rode home with her mom but we went by their house to drop off all her stuff, including the doll wardrobes. By then, it was 9 p.m. and the only grocery store besides Walmart was closed and I knew there was no food in the apartment so we went to Walmart, bought frozen dinners, went back to the apartment, heated them in the microwave, ate about 10:45 p.m., took showers and went to bed.
We got up this morning about 6, got dressed, ran by Chad & Nicole’s drop off a few things Addie had left in the car, told her goodbye, cried, and got back on the road by about 7:30. Drove straight through except for a couple of bathroom/gas stops; ate our lunch in the car and arrived home about 5:30.
That’s a lot of miles in a few hours.
Vince had never seen the apartment. He never visited there when Chad lived there. He said he felt like he was visiting his girlfriend at her house. I was familiar with the place, knew where everything was (only because I don’t have much there) and he got there, and had to ask “Where’s the bathroom?” He could have figured it out but I showed him both of them and told him to take his pick!
At this point, I’ve had the apartment seven months and have spent three nights there. Not a good investment! I doubt I’ll be spending any more nights there because the next time I go, we’ll have the house.
It will be so nice to sleep in our comfy bed tonight and not have to wake up early in the morning and drive all day.

Wow, what a fast trip. I just made a similar trip (MO to TX and back) but I stretched it out to a week and a half. And I was still tired when I got home. Ha ha. So excited about your move.

That is a lot of driving in two days! And now the missing starts.

That was a fast trip but I am so glad you found the tire problem before you got on the road!!

You forgot to update us on the outcome of the bribe?

Did I miss the wardrobes getting painted with Addie?
