We’ve been to a few high school football games here but we’re not avid high school football fans. It’s just fun to be in a town that gets really excited about high school football. Here in Texas, on a Friday, almost everyone in town has on the school colors, school T-shirts, half the cars are decorated and football excitement can be felt everywhere.
We have a friend here who lived in MO for a while and he said “I don’t even remember where Webb City is located but I know they have always had an amazing football team.”
They are supposed to have an amazing school system. Their high school was built in 1972 and according to Wikiepedia, “It was expanded in 1973, 1975, 1983, 1987, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2015 and 2017. The most recent addition added a new gymnasium and a storm shelter in a dome shape.” It is definitely a growing area.
But . . high school football! You may remember that I’ve ordered yarn to make a couple of projects in their school colors. I found something online with the most popular school football teams in all 50 states. Here’s Missouri’s:
That excitement is contagious and just another reason I’m so happy to be moving there.

Deming, NM, was like that. My gosh, you’d have thought it was professional teams playing! Almost everyone was at the high school football field on Friday nights.

OK I looked at Illinois, and Joliet Catholic Academy doesn’t even make the list. OMG THEY ARE WHERE IT’S AT! The teams that are on there are valid, but JCA is a powerhouse. Yes, we may have lost to them too many times to count….
And that is the Illinois report!
