The big fig tree still hasn’t had any ripe figs. It’s so frustrating. Our little Brown Turkey fig tree has had a few but it never makes many figs. I count on that big Black Mission tree to give me all the figs for canning and freeze drying but I’m thinking it isn’t going to happen this year.
It has full of green figs but look how weird some of them are.
The ants have found them and have already been munching on them. I’m not holding out much hope for a big fig crop this year.

For ants, have you tried putting diatomaceous earth around the tree? I know here they won’t cross the line at all.

Funny how the ants would want them now, before they grow and ripen. Thank goodness you had a lot of figs last year, and a lot of peaches this year.

Can you wrap something around the trunk so they can’t go up? Like tape and then put some sticky stuff on the tape? My son did this to his apple tree.

I have one big tree that has figs all year till frost. It has some on it now but had gobs 2 weeks ago. Lack of rain maybe? Now the one at new house which is a sprig I grew has figs on it just like yours. Same make of tree but not getting ripe small and staying the same size that is different. Strange. So maybe we will still get some more figs. All our oaks trees are shedding their leaves too by the way.
