Believe me, I am not making a joke about memory loss or any of the illnesses that case the brain to deteriorate – those issues are probably my biggest fear with aging.
Addie loves JoJo and several weeks ago, she saw a JoJo Slime Kit and wanted me to order it. I told her I might order it later. I did order it and when it arrived, put it up where she wouldn’t see it.
This morning she asked me if I had ordered the slime kit. I kinda grinned and she said “You did! You did! Can I have it?” I told her yes and then I could not remember where I put it. I searched everywhere I thought I might have hid it. I asked Vince if he had seen it. No.
Finally, I told Addie that some day I would find it and I’d send it to her.
Then I went into the laundry room to get a load of laundry going and I remembered where I put it. The ironing board hangs on the wall and I had stuck it behind the ironing board.
Now she’s making slime!

A cute story on aging: I was watching my 4-year old grandon yesterday and could not remember a word I was thinking of. He immediately came up with the word, then asked why I didn’t remember it. I told him it was because I was getting old and forgetful. His response? “Well, I’m new and I know lots of words, Grandma!” LOL!!! This morning he skyped me and wanted me to help him get up off Mama and Daddy’s bed. He said, “Just pull me, Grandma!” Kind of hard to do through the computer screen…. 🙂 🙂

I guess slime has taken over the play dough phase. Nice job on the remembering part!

As a grandma cleaning up the mess, I suppose I’d take play dough any day over slime but maybe that’s just because I have slime all over my shirt and in my hair right now.

I hide or “store” things all the time and then can’t remember where they are! Right now I’m missing half of my summer clothes. My house is not that big! I often say “where can it be? This house is not that big!” I think that is part of the problem tho’. I have to be creative where I put stuff. Love the Addie stories.

I’m with you on that. When there’s more room, things can have their place. Of course, I don’t have to have twice as much stuff as I could reasonably fit in our home . . but I do. I’m so looking forward to having a decent number of cabinets and drawers and having an attached garage where I can have shelves and store the things I use often but not often enough to keep in the kitchen.
Don’t worry about your summer clothes. It’s half over! 🙂

My granddaughter and I used to sit at our ice cream table and color. This table and 2 chairs was in Pat’s .grandfather’s ice cream parlor in Rising Star, Texas. He closed it in around 1907 and we still have it. Guess who is going to get this when we go to our great reward!! She also has a miniature set that looks just like it that her daughter played at when she was little. That was also ours and Gary’s wife (her grandmother) gave it to my great granddaughter! Amber knows this will stay in the family! We had so much fun there!

Memories are priceless and to have that table and pass it down to her is truly priceless.
