You know how I’m always noticing funny little coincidences. Here’s another one.
We moved to Texas in August, 2011. That summer, there were either 99 or 100 consecutive days over 100 degrees. I thought it was 100 days; Vince thinks it was 99 days. What difference does one day make . . it was A LOT of hot days.
The movers were from Minnesota and I thought they were going to die moving everything into the house and into a couple of storage buildings. Remember . . we rented here for a few months before we found a house to buy. They were probably joking but said they’d never take another job moving someone to Texas in August.
Vince and I were not joking when we said “We’re never moving in the summer again!” So . . here it is fixing to be August again and we’re set to close on the MO house in August. That’s why we’re not real concerned about packing now. We are NOT moving in August and probably not in September. When Vince talked to the movers, the first opening they have is August but Vince told them it’s too hot (since we have to do all our own packing) and he told her he was thinking more like early October. We’ll see how that goes.
We’ll bring everything from the apartment to the house and that will be all we need to “live” there, and we’ll still have everything in Texas to “live” there so we can stay in MO as much as we want. The only thing not in the apartment that we will need is a TV and we can easily get an extra TV from here to there.
I have a sofa, pots, pans, dishes, Insta Pot, bed, towels, lamps . . we’ll be fine.
Once it’s cooler, we can pack up the Texas house. Inside isn’t a problem but the shop . . it’s HOT in there!
When Vince called the movers, the first opening they had was late August. Vince has our move scheduled for late September but the lady said they could easily change it so once we make a trip or two to MO, we’ll have a better idea when we will be ready for the movers but I doubt it will be September.

Just take your time. I would rather you did not have a heat stroke!!

I can’t remember ever using professional movers for my stuff. We always do it with a U-Haul and church members on both ends. LOL Once, I moved in Phoenix in the late summer with 3 teenaged boys from church helping me. They were cheap and oh, so very careful!

Moving before selling is so much better. So happy for your find and it is so pretty a place.

I can’t imagine, especially now with the pandemic, having people coming through the house and us having to leave with Rita and Boots and go hang out somewhere while it’s 110+ degrees!

It will be cheaper after Labor Day!! August is an expensive month!

We aren’t even thinking about buying anything big til our Texas house sells and I doubt we’ll even put it on the market for months.
