When I first let Addie do the steering on the RTV, Vince didn’t say anything but he gave me “that” look and I knew he thought I shouldn’t be doing it but he’s seen us go all over on it. This morning he’d been hauling limbs down to the debris pile and before he put the RTV up, he asked Addie if she wanted to drive him around.
She’s wearing her Texas clothes again . . . just not the boots.
The buckets in the back of the RTV are from when Vince filled up some tubs with water for the wildlife.
There they go! They just rode down to the end of the driveway made a big loop around the trails through the woods and came back. She loves “driving”.

Sweet! I’m sure you’re glad she was able to come visit and spend time on the “farm” with y’all before you move. She’ll keep these memories the same way you kept your memories of your grandparents home and farm. <3
Donna says
Judy have you heard the song “Drive” by Allan Jackson? If you haven’t you need to look it up. It’s about his memories when he was young and his daddy let him drive! Great song!

I’m so glad, now that you are buying the other house, that she’s had this summer with you. That is an experience, among many others, that she won’t have a chance to have again once you sell the Texas place.
Judy Laquidara says
I’ve thought that same thing 100 times this week.
Dottie says
Some wonderful memories she’ll cherish forever. I remember my Granddad and my Grandmother letting me drive when I was a kid.
Duane Whitstine says
Oh no! As soon as she grows up she is going to want to move to TEXAS to repeat some of those great mamories!!!!!!
Judy Laquidara says
I don’t know. She’s had her fill of bugs. There are so many bugs here and the grasshoppers are about as big as she is. She told me today that she never wants to live where there are so many bugs. 🙂
Amy (Waunaknit) says
Vince doesn’t look too worried. Glad that she decided to go to Texas and spend time with you. Once you move, she’ll be over at your house all the time!

Our grandkids have been have been driving the 4 wheelers and side by side for so long that we send them on errands on the wheelers all by themselves. All part of living in the country!
